As pils go, this one is quite good, in my opinion. I had one today on tap and I was very skeptical, but in then end I found it to be a good beer. Clear yellow color with a one finger white head, left a little lace. Aromas were sublte, slight hoppiness and twinge of grass. Tastes started with a nice little hop bite and finished with a very smooth malty flavor that lingered much longer than I expected and was really rather nice. Mouthfeel was nothing special, crisp and dry. Drinkability was good, you could definitely sit back on a hot day and put several of these back with no problem. As others noted before, nothing earth shattering in this beer, but still, for an American brewed pils, it's quite tasty.

Poured a pale gold with minimal head. Typical pilsner appearance with a mild aroma of wheat and grass, although there's some pine there too. Moderate carbonation and a light mouthfeel.

Flavor was a pleasant surprise, with full flavors of lemon, wheat, and a lingering and slightly bitter hoppy finish. Light and very refreshing pilsner with some nice American hop flavors to boot.

A: Poured a glowing light gold color with a small white head

S: Hops, grains and some sweetness

T: Sordove mute. Grains and a little bit of hop bite and sweetness on the end but boring from begining to end.

M: Well carbonated just not that great

D: Not one I would recommend

A clear pale golden yellow with a thin white head. Light pilsner malt aroma. Sharp pilsner malt taste with a light hop balance. Not overly sweet but nicely blanced. Smooth crisp finish with a light bittering linger. Very clean and easy to drink.

This is a great easy drinking pilsner and according to my brother only $6 a growler (if you have one of theirs, $8 if you don't). We easily drank the whole growler. Even the non-beer drinking wives liked it.

First off, I have to mention I am not a big lager or pilsener guy. Generally find them underwhelming. But, having this on tap, I could see giving them more of my time and beer budget. This was actually quite good and refreshing, even here in the middle of (a mild) winter.

Overall, I just really liked the hoppy flavors this offered. Yeah, its generally mild to all of the ales usually being consumed, but I liked that this had a nice bit of citrusy hops to it, balanced by some grassiness and malty backbone. Not a bad effort at all, and I would choose it over Urquell any day.

Had this on-tap in a pint glass at the 9lb Hammer in Seattle, nearly adjacent to the Georgetown Brewery.

Appearance: clear gold with a hint of opaqueness, which characteristic I'm not normally seeking in a pilsner. Thin head with nice lacing.

Smell: sweet malt and light hops aroma.

Taste: spicy hops first and foremost; delicious. A nice medium bitterness; in my mind, this beer is what a pils is all about. Would be spectacular with hot foods but is great alone too.

Mouthfeel: light-medium body with an OK level of carbonation; I would like to have had a little more.

Drinkability: despite some of its style-atypical characteristics, I still think this is a fantastically tasty beer and would enjoy quaffing many pints.

I wish Georgetown had a brewpub or a more formal tasting room. That way I'd know exactly what this pilsner should be instead of having to rely on secondary sources that may not show the beer as much care as it deserves. Even though I drank a pint of Roger's at the 9 Pound Hammer directly across the street from the brewery, I'm not convinced that this lager should be as undercarbonated as it was. The bubbles were few and far between. And the pale yellow-gold beer wasn't nearly as clear as a lager should be despite its dapper white head.

Roger's delivered the taste of toast and tang with some grassiness and bitterspice. Its smell was also of a bready, yeasted tang. Splayed lace adorned the glass as the beer receded.

Not a bad beer at all. But with only a secondary source to turn to, my impression is that Roger's just isn't as inspired as the rest of Georgetown's lineup.

A: Growler aggressively poured into a pint glass. The color resembles fall leaves drained of chlorophyll sitting ripe and yellow off the end of their branches. Translucent and crisp. The head is a medium cloud of ivory with great retention and moderate lacing.

S: Impressive sharp flowery aromas. Freshly cut grass and sweet confections. A bit of pepper in the back. I thought the smell was energetic, clean, and engaging.

T: Toasted malts coupled with a slight citrus zing. A grainy taste as it warms up but generally very crisp. Lemons, honey, and a subtle pinch of spice. Nothing too complex but still very solid and enjoyable.

M: Light mouth feel that is clean and fresh.

D: A six dollar growler makes this nothing short of a perfect deal. I would recommend this offering for anyone who has the chance. Throw on some High on Fire and pound these back.

BC is full of lagers by craft brewers. It was nice to see a decent pils by a local Seattle brewer on tap. I had it after a PBR so the hops and full body came to my attention. This is not an earth shattering beer but rather a nice patio lager with enough body to stand up to a burger.

I was served a 6 ounce sample from a growler filled at the brewery.

A: Bright gold hue with a bone white abundant head that left a light lacing down the side of the glass.

S: It had a light toasted sweet malt aroma. However, overall its aroma was not terribly dominant or complex.

T: There was a bit of sweetness and a tangy zest from the hops I detected some citrus fruits and creamy pears.

M: Light and watery. It had a little dryness and sour aftertaste.

D: Easy beer to drink on during a long hot summer session.

Tried this at the Grand Re-opening of Barking Dog Ale House in Ballard. It's a great pilsner (which i'm not a huge fan of) that goes down easy and is very sessionable.

I can't wait to get it on tap in my home kegerator. Now Georgetown just needs to keep an extra 1/4 or 1/2 barrel in stock for me.
