Poured an amber color into a standard pint glass with a decent off-white head.

The aroma was subdued but had a hint of floral and citrus hops and sweet malt.

The taste followed the nose but with a strong, spicy, and earthy middle. The hint of orange rind was up front held up by a malt backbone that did not distract from the complex hop character. While I didn't get this, my waitress said she didn't like this beer "because it tasted by bubble gum."

Medium and oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. A bit musky.

Drinkable IPA that I would have again if offered to me but probably wouldn't seek out if other NW IPAs were available.

Two fingers of fluffy white foam; excellent cap retention; deep gold with very good clarity; soapy lace; heavy ring. Lemon peel nose. Bitter lemon peel; firm malt base; not sweet; hint of pine. Medium light body; moderate minus carbonation; no astringency. Overall an easy drinking WC style.

A west coast spa. Taste is a blend of sweet and citrus. The bitterness in the finish is not a long lasting and lingering. It is short but sharp.

Re-reviewing this one as my last review is from about a dozen years ago.

12oz can (packaged 8/23/2023) into a tulip. Pours a slightly hazy (chill haze?) glowing golden orange with a big billowing white head that leaves behind some nice patchy lace.

Aroma is a tempting blend of juicy mandarin orange, grapefruit zest, and some subtle piney notes. A little bit of that Simcoe “cat pee” smell. Smells super juicy and citrusy.

Taste is likewise a blend of mostly citrus and some resinous pine. Classic West Coast IPA flavor. Nice sharp bitter finish, as it should be.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp, super drinkable. Crushable even.

Overall a very tasty, unpretentious, working man’s IPA that seems to have been around forever. Probably underrated. I don’t drink enough of this.

On tap @ the Maple Leaf Grill, Seattle.

Pours a clear copper that leaves behind a good steady ring of lace as I drain the pint.

Aroma is clean piney/citrusy hops, pale malt.

Taste follows nose. Classic West Coast IPA taste, nice bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, drinkable.

Overall a solid, enjoyable American IPA.

Canned 5/15/23

We’re getting towards the end of woemad’s third BIF box, and we have yet another beer from Georgetown. He’s sent me two others from this brewery, both of which were really good, so I have high hopes for this final one. Let’s crack it open and see if it can live up to the others

Pours a mostly clear orange gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves minimal lacing

The nose has a great balance of juicy and bitter notes. I’m picking up on aromas of orange marmalade, red grapefruit, bready malt, earthy hops, pine sap, overripe cantaloupe, black pepper, and light caramel malt

It doesn’t keep up quite the same balance in taste, but it’s still damn solid as a more classic WCIPA. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange zest, bready malt, earthy hops, pithy grapefruit, dank weed, caramel malt, and light gooseberry. The swallow brings notes of caramel malt, orange marmalade, white pepper, pine sap, earthy hops, pithy grapefruit, and light weed

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes somewhat sticky and takes a while to dry out

Well it’s good, but not quite up to the level of the others I’ve had from this brewery

Look: Opaque rich orange with an awesome-looking and frothy head that rises quickly to a pillow, and ever-so-slowly settles, leaving sticky lacing behind
Aroma: Mandarins, ruby-red grapefruit, melon, strawberries, wafts of pine, peach, and sweet bready malt
Taste: Melon and berry notes open it up and quickly joined by a huge punch of juicy citrus fruit – Cara Cara oranges, Satsuma mandarins, ruby-red and white grapefruit, and tangelos all in play. Malt is clearly present throughout to provide a sweet bready balance and after the citrus starts to subside, some peach appears as well on the close
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and a nice bite and light dryness on the finish
Overall: This is tasty stuff. I love what these folks do and although Bodhizafa gets a lot of the fanfare (and rightfully so), this is not only a delicious and well-made option, but I think I prefer this over Bodi for my tastes. An awesome citrus-filled hop presence but with some nice berry, melon, and peach notes to round it out and a bite, dry finish, and killer body to boot

Pours a very murky, burnt orange with decent head, retention and lacing. Plenty of tropical notes on the nose, and very nice. Taste has a nice old school vibe to it. Piney, but not over the top with a little bit of citrus to complement it. Solid beer.

This beer pours a very thick, hazy apricot, with a creamy, yet thin off-white head. A reasonably attractive, heady brew.

The aroma leaps out of the glass as soon as you pour, but quickly fades off. Yeast, booze, canned peaches, dry (brown) pine cone, mango, and cantaloupe are the predominant flavors. Very little green or fresh notes here; more of a sweet fruit salad. Where there is green, it comes across as a sort of reggie-like dankness. Not unpleasant, but it's an odd collection of smells.

Taste leads off with dry, floral hops on the palate, and is followed by additional melon and lilac notes. Alcohol comes through as well, particularly as it warms. Very soft, very fruity, with minimal (although present) bitterness. The finish only dries halfway, leaving a somewhat fatigued palate.

Mouthfeel is somewhat thin and undercarbonated. Not a highlight.

Overall, this is an interesting experiment, even if I'm not certain it was a completely successful one. In my mind, this is sort of a smash-up between those early 1990s "English-style" Pale Ales and IPAs made in the Northeast US (think Smuttynose's Shoals Pale Ale, Geary's IPA) and the new-style NEIPA that focuses on milky, fruit salad flavors. Worth a try, but pass on the six-pack.

This beer pours a very murky, hazy, dank looking straw color. There's a 2 finger white head. The head looks very fluffy, and cloud like. The head retention is damn good, and there's beautiful, lacing on the glass.
The nose has a tropical vibe to it. Pineapple, and grapefruit seem to be the main aromas.
Taste - Tons of pineapple, mango, and grapefruit in the flavor.
The body is good, the hops do cling a bit in my throat.
Delicious
