I had this beer on-tap in a snifter at the 2014 WABL Belgianfest in Seattle. This is the 2014 Donkey Deux, which clocked in at 7.6% ABV.
Appearance: looks like a dubbel should; amber-brown hue with plenty of cloudiness and a nice lacing on the glass.
Smell: a little bit of tartness to the aroma; a lemony, zesty tartness. Caramel malt with a bit of a banana character. Not too bad.
Taste: some of that zestiness comes through again; moderately sweet with the aforementioned banana and almost an orangey character. A little different but decent.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a great carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a good American try at a classic Belgian style. Not too bad.

This was the first beer ever bottled By Georgetown Brewery, and I received it as a birthday present from my brother. Poured a deep, dark ruby-copper hue with a frosty beige head. It smelled much like a red wine, and had hints of raisin, fig, oak, and caramel malt as you sipped away. Silky smooth mouthfeel, but a bit boozy in the aftertaste. It wasn't something I'd reach for everyday, and not the best interpretation of the style, but it was still pretty decent, and I hope that Georgetown continues to produce more bottled beers in the future to compliment their already stellar lineup.
