Very quiet place by Penn Station. Good bar to get away from hustle and bustle. Was with a party of 8 and it was empty on a Sunday night. Draft list was stellar; plenty of Vermont rares on draft (Hill Farmstead, Foam, Lawson's). Curious why but it was a nice treat. Food is small bites, prepared well. My wings were yummy. I'll be back, and hope that this place stays as the calm oasis of craft in the fast paced city.

More modern and clean than many of the beer bars that I have been to in NYC. And I find it a bit sterile for that reason. However, that is not the primary reason for visiting. The quality of the beer they serve is high, the service is great and the selection of beers that they have on tap and in cans is excellent and broad. Definitely a must hit for NYC beer bars if you are in the area or from out of town.

Dimly lit hardwood floors and clean walls create a dark, welcoming atmosphere. A long bar with seating and a hand full of tables with plush, booth-like seating consume the front 2/3 of the place. The last 1/3 is a collection of 2 and 4 top tables. Old bottles like Cantillon, 3, and some other rarities adorn the wall above the bar, otherwise you may never gather it's a quality beer bar from the looks. Tap list looks great, but does heavily favor IPAs and hoppy work (visited in November). Was requested to make a malty suggestion and I had two options - a lone porter and a high gravity stout. There is a list of what's to be tapped next. Cans to go is a nice touch and features some sought after NE IPAs like Sip of Sunshine. Overall, the beer menu seemed to focus a little more closely on NYC and New York State breweries, but there is plenty of quality there that it didn't impact the tap list in a negative way. Service was friendly, albeit a bit slow to get a table. Food was excellent fries were killer. Just had a burger, but it was still good.

nice little place a few blocks from MSG/Penn Station
this is our go to spot whenever we see a show at MSG
nice open area near the bar, comfy seats
they usually have a nice mix of beers on tap, both local and national breweries
service is pretty solid, never had an issue with bad service
food is great..killer wings(some of my favorite in the city)
prices are reasonable

Nice bar tucked away on a smaller street.
Vibe was friendly and not too loud. Fairly busy, considering we were there on a Tuesday night.
Quality and selection was solid, with lots of variety on the tap list. Service was quick and friendly.
Did not have food, but a dessert, which was phenomenal.
The Haymaker was one of my favorite places in New York, and a must visit on Manhattan.

Was in the city for the Phish bakers dozen run. In desperate need of some excellent beer and food. This place did not disappoint. It was a short walk from our hotel, and a shorter walk to the garden.
Hit the jackpot here. Nice little unassuming place with a wide open bar and an airy setup. Many local offerings and good regional craft beer as well as some unorthodox selections. Prices seemed fair for the box city. Food was upscale gastro pub fare. Service was quick.
Acoustics were the only setback. Somewhat noisy.
If your near MSG and need excellent libation and vittels go here.

A gastropub in the middle of mid-town Manhattan that feels like a local bar anywhere but NYC. A nice laid back vibe with good music and food which looked and smelled really tasty. I didn't eat when I was there but what I inhaled was good.
The bartenders were attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable, never making me feel like I was rushed and going over the whole beer menu with me. Really nice service.
The selection was impressive with most styles covered, and I had Perennial Sump Coffee Stout and Hill Farmstead Society & Solitude #8 DIPA. Both were served in proper glassware and the beers tasted fresh like they came out of clean lines. This bar is very close to Penn Station so I'm sure I'll visit it more often since it's on my way home from work. Be warned though, this place is not cheap.

Bartender was quite knowledgeable about beer selections, and accommodating with tastings.
One of the best craft beer draft menus anywhere.

I stopped here for some dinner and a few pints. Its a large bar area that was standing room only on a Thursday night with loads of folks enjoying libations. I asked for a table and was seated in the back at one of the last available tables. The ambiance was dark and boisterous, and there were TVs all over. There were about 20 beers on draft with some nice choices from Hill Farmstead, Other Half, Maine Beer Co, Bruery, and St. Somewhere. Smallish food menu, but I had the hangar steak which was very good along with some fresh Hill Farmstead pints. Service was not as quick as I would have liked, but it was packed. This is a great place for some good food and pints.
