Low carbonation.

Aroma is very malty and sweet like honey.

Tastes very sweet. Lots of malt but clean without any grainyness. Almost too sweet. Mouthfeel is kind of sticky.

More carbonation please.

A: Sparkling apple-cider color reveals a rapid sense of effervesce. On top lied a snow white whipped capping of 2 finger statue with an impressive enough retention rate. The lacing was thick, with a >80% glass coverage of initial contact.

S: The nose was true to style, soft, with instances of green noble hops and light wet hay. Smooth graininess with some warm mealy.

T: Grainy upfront, smooth with a touch of sweetness. Fresh barley with a light green hopping that is fresh and well balanced. The swallow finds a noble green hopping while the flavor is delicate, smooth and very clean, a good tribute to fine german malt crafting by an American brewery.

M: Light bodied, very polished and smooth with a good carbonation presence and crispness.

D: Good clean, good drinking fun. Flows effortlessly from glass to throat with no hindrance. A great drink that was soft, true to style and would make for a great summer time drink. Case worthy to beat the heat with as a all day drinker.

This is just not a very good pilsner.

Pours a hazy golden with a slight and short-lived head. The aroma is honeyish, sweet and malty. The flavor is blunt and unsubtle, honeyish and thick. The hop character is thick and blunt. The mouthfeel is thick and gooey.

Appearance: pours a clear golden yellow color with a short 1/2" head that falls to a thick surface foam.

Smell: grass and a hint of lemon zest is all you pull from the glass.

Taste: mild malt, grass, lemon zest, and a mild Saaz hop bitterness makes up a decent pilsner.

Mouthfeel: lighter in body. Nicely crisp throughout with a clean aftertaste.

Drinkability: easy drinking pils where a few of these can be consumed in a session.

Poured a nice golden yellow with a big carbonation and a big white head. Nose is light grain and some funk. Taste is grains, light hops, corn. Mouthfeel is a little grainy, booze, some hops bit not to much else going on. I did detect some toasted notes on te end of the taste and on the mouthfeel. Sweet, crisp. Drinkable, yup.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: very light yellow golden color with a three-finger rocky head leaving a good lace. Color is par for the course, but I enjoy the substantial head.

Smell: grainy, malty; a little sour. I'm not too impressed, though it is better than, say, your average macro.

Taste: grainy and, again, a little sour. There's a nice bitterness, and I'm glad they didn't ignore the hops, but really this could be a lot better. Not a huge fan.

Mouthfeel: medium body, medium level of carbonation. Pretty average.

Drinkability: it's got that refreshing character of a pilsner, but frankly, the sour and grainy factors of the flavor are just off-putting (even in the context of the style). Again, I'm just not a fan -- though this isn't going to be a drain-pour.

22 picked up this afternoon at the COOP... poured into my shaped SA glass.

Beautiful foamy white head... tons of carbonation is streaming in ribbons through a paler than average gold brew.

nose is clean graininess with some slightly spicy... more grassy hoppiness.. very clean.

flavor is pretty damn authentic.. descent bitterness that holds the pale malts in check and allows the hops to help balance out to the finish... pretty clean on the end.

The body is light/medium with the expected abundant carbonation.

I was pretty excited to see this brewery at the COOP... I love well made German lagers and this is pretty tasty.

Pours a crystal clear pale yellow fizz with a nice stark white head that is exactly to style as far as retention and lacing.

Nose is about as authentic as it gets here, euro hops and lagery grain with that classic grassy waft.

Taste is also pretty much nuts on. Grassy hops and crisp pilsner grain. A nice dryness on the finish. There is a tiny tiny kiss of sweetness in there that is enjoyable as well.

Mouthfeel is right where you would expect. Quite carbonated and crisp with light viscosity.

Drinkability is top notch as a pilsner should be. Could easily put a few of these bombers away and plan to in the near future. A very to style and great representation of a traditional german pilsner. Rivals many german examples let alone the few great ones made here in America. An excellent beer.

pours a clear yellow with white head.

aromas of yeast, honey, slight breadiness, and a dash of pine hops with a little fruitiness underneath

malty backbone upfront with notes of faint honey sweetness, solid yet balanced piney dry hops, a light breadiness as well, and a dash of lemon

light bodied upfront, but the malt presence followed by a sturdy hop character balance it out

a bit bready style of pils upfront with a solid hop backbone, a good pils for sure, very thirst quenching, albeit i would prefer it a bit hoppier, but i am a hop head. i thought it was a good representation of the style and reminded me of Pinkus' Ur-Pils

22oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry_Pitonka (thanks!).

Poured a lighter and hazy yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of grass, spicey, lemons, and I was getting some honey comb. Tastes of grass, spicey, and some graininess. The aroma was on the 'sweet' side which did not come through in the tastes.

I'd heard good things about Baron's Pils, but my experience left me somewhat indifferent to its acclaim. It's unexpectedly cloudy for a lager, and very pale lemon yellow. The sustained carbonation and big meringue head of off-white duff was impressive. But the indistinct flavor kept me skeptical. Though bittering features prominently there's no particular Saaz spice or crisp edges here, and the aroma was dilute.

Not as clean as a lager should be in appearance or taste. And otherwise devoid of excitement.

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body with a thin white head.

Smell: Scant pils malt aroma with a meager handful of Noble hops tossed in and a bit of lemon.

Taste: Pils malt flavor, though with very little sweetness. Thin Saaz hop flavor with just a bit of bitterness. A handful of lemons in the finish. Pretty lacking overall.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied (a bit too light). Moderate carbonation.

Drinkability: A pretty basic pilsener, there are many others that exhibit far more razzle-dazzle and/or refinement.

Sun-bleached maize with Sauvignon blanc colored edges. I've seen darker light lagers and a few darker ciders. The snow white cap is a looker. It has a wonderfully sticky texture and is depositing a fair amount of lace as a result. As long as the beer isn't undermalted, I don't care that it's incredibly pale.

The aroma is typical for the style in that it features musky, grassy hops with no trace of malt. Even though I wasn't able to determine the member(s) of the hop bill, Saaz is a no-brainer. There could be something else in there as well. More pungency might have resulted in a higher score.

Pilsner is a pretty good pilsener (why can't we all agree on a single spelling?) if you like them light. In fact, I might have guessed 'noble hopped light lager' if blinded. It looks like the anemic coloring of the beer was indicative of the less than beefy malt load after all.

The flavor profile is too simple. Since there's very little malt flavor, and even less malt sugar sweetness, the taste buds register little more than noble hops. Pilsner is bitter and grassy with a few shavings of lemon peel. It's good as far as it goes, but it doesn't go very far.

There's no way the mouthfeel could be anything but too light. Yes, even for a pils. Although the amount and quality of the carbonation is adequate, bubbles can only do so much.

The only other Baron Brewing beer that I've had (Schwarzbier) was also too thin. If these guys would start adding more malt to the kettles, they might have something worth drinking more than once. Unless you're counting calories, I'd give Pilsner a pass.

Serving Type: 1 pint 6 fl oz

Appearance: Pours a brightly coloured yellow w/ no real head to speak of and no lacing. A little disappointing in the lack of head

Smell: Smells of corn, hops and malts. Maybe a bit of citrus as well

Taste: Has a corn/hops taste at the beginning w/ a slight metallic taste to the end. A little sweet in the beginning which was nice. Very crisp

Mouthfeel: Lightly carbonated beer that goes down easy

Drinkability: This is a decent enough tasting beer that goes down smooth that you could put these down pretty easy.

Pours with a brilliantly clear, full straw-gold color (on the lighter side of gold) and is topped by a frothy, pale, just barely off-white colored head that starts out two-fingers in height. The aroma is a clean mix of lightly kilned malt and crisp hop notes that lean towards lemon grass. A touch of soda cracker aromatics join the sweeter cereal grain aromas.

Light and crisp, yet it still has a sweet grain character to the flavor. The beer has a nice biting bitterness to it that lingers on in the finish and is perhaps the most prominent flavor (though the malt sweetness is a close second). The hop notes lean towards a mix of grassy notes (the malt accentuates this a bit too), touches of lemon zest and something a touch like basil. The beer almost has a bit too much sweetness, by which I mean this could certainly use some more hop character. This is certainly a good beer on this hot (approaching 100ºF / 38ºC) Tucson afternoon; it has a crispness to it, but still has a light malt sweetness with a balancing hop character and all of which make for an easily quaffable brew.

Very clear, light in color, pretty decent looking white head, adequate carbonation noticed.

Aroma of corn, grains, citrus.

Pretty tasty, goes down easy, but there is an acidic note that lingers and takes away from what would otherwise be a very sessionable pils.

Close to excellent, and not bad. I'd like to try this on tap,
