Notes/Commercial Description:
An American interpretation of a classic Belgian wheat ale. A hazy light golden color gives this beer its name. This light and refreshing ale is brewed with just a hint of coriander and orange zest giving way to a citrus finish.

poured from can into pilsner glass

A-traditional BMC gold color with about a 1/2" head that faded away rapidly

S-slight orange citrus followed by even fainter malt

T-not a lot going on here either a little of the orange and spices it says that it is brewed with but not much in the way of malts or hops

M-carbonation ok but it is pretty thin and watery

O-better than most BMC offerings but not much in the way of anything resembling complexity, but if I were in SC I would probably pick this every time over BMC

Beer served in a can.

Nice corn-yellow color. Some head and lacing.

Aroma of citris and a bit of wheat.

Flavor is unremarkable but drinkable. I can taste the citrus in the background however I seem to be reminded of a typical macrobrew. Spices are enhanced as it warms.

This is good beach beer when there are a mix of craft brew drinkers and non-craft drinkers. Pick it up when you visit Myrtle Beach with your friends.

from notes taken at the brewery:

A: pours a hazy gold orange into a clear plastic cup with a finger of white froathy head.

S: sweet malt, caramel, biscuits, orange/citrus and spices.

T: the orange presents itself first and is followed in by light malt and sweet biscuits. its brought full circle with more citrus and spices, corriander and even some clove.

MF: Crisp and refreshing. Medium body and not too sweet or spicy.

O: Good beach beer in a can, strong witbier, I wish I chould find this around me.

A: Poured from a can to pint glass. Had a pale yellow color and a slightly hazy texture. There was a half inch of foamy head that quickly dissipated. No lacing to speak of.

S: A very mild, almost undetectable aroma of malt, and citrus.

T: Tasted of malt, with some lemon and a just a hint of coriander. Like the smell, the taste was very mild and thin. Did not have the vibrancy of other witbiers.

M: A fair amount of carbonation with a somewhat slick finish. Light-bodied.

O: This is a decidedly average and forgettable beer. Not offensively bad, but not something I'd drink twice.

A big shout out to the legendary woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some notes of citrus. Taste is also mild, some citrus and wheat, a tad sour, kind of lacking in spice. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, while not a bad beer, it seems to be lacking in flavor and drinkability.

Had this on-tap. It's a local beer so I thought since its getting warmer why not? I'll give it a try. Nice white ale -- or I guess a witbier. Straw colored gold with a white head. Not much in the way of smell other than the orange hints. It's not an IPA so its not overpowering in that way. It had a very drinkable taste. You could have several of these. Overall, this a very drinkable local beer. I like it.

This was a gift from Beav42 and it took me a while to get a picture approved. Now that it has been, I am ready for another CANQuest (TM) beer. Thanks, Dave!

From the CAN: "Ale Brewed with Spices"; "Refreshing Ale Brewed with Just a Hint of Coriander and Orange Zest"; "Always Fresh and Satisfying".

The Crack revealed yet another craft CAN filled near to the brim! The Glug produced a thick, dense finger of bone-white head with good retention. Color was an extremely cloudy golden-yellow, very much like fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. Nose was both spicy and orange citrusy. Mouthfeel was slightly thin with a light presence of the spice and zest noted on the label. It seemed a bit muted and could use tweaking. Finish was pleasant and certainly refreshing, but I still feel like its flavors were somewhat muted for the style. It would be worth CANsidering for the cooler on a hot, humid summer's day.

I picked up a can of this after having their IPA. Looks good: orange with lacing of white. It had an okay head. There was a little orange smell there. Not much. The taste of this seems kind of average. Not terrible by any stretch. It tastes like a white beer. It just doesn't have that, "This is really refreshing... give me another" taste. Good carbonation. I would give this a little better than average rating.

On tap at Portofinos On The Wharf in Georgetown SC for my birthday. Served in a standard pint glass. If you go request Todd, he was a fantastic waiter.

A: Standard wit. Cloudy straw with white head 2 finger that receded quickly

S: Orange and coriander.

T: Refreshing orange. Slight spice from the coriander.

M: Very nice.

D: High. Not the kind to drink a lot of because of how sweet it is, but I would not think it out of the ordinary to put a couple away with a meal with no difficulty.

Sorry for the brisk review. It was at a party so I could not take the best notes.

Picked up today on a whim at the Beer Dispensary in Apex. Pours a pale straw color and the head never really develops and instead just caps right away. Nose is grainy with a hint of orange.

The pieces all seem to be present in this one but it just doesn't pop. I get the wheat, the orange peel, the coriander, the yeast but they just don't mesh quite right. Mouthfeel is missing that Wit delicateness. It's not bad, just pedestrian. Carbonation is there initially then totally deserts the brew.

Not terrible but not something to take a road trip to Myrtle Beach for.

Presentation: Poured into a pint glass from a 12oz. can.

A: Hazy golden yellow, almost lemon colored with a thin white film of bubbles.

S: Grainy, citrus and mild malty sweetness.

T&M: Mild sweetness with a nice crispness. Mild orange and coriander give this brew a nice taste. Light bodied and smooth.

Very nice brew.

Appearance - a slight haze to this golden lemony beer. A standard white cap hangs around for a minute before evaporating down and holding at a thin cover.

Aroma - dusty, powdery grain. A slight whiff of sweetness. Whether that is due to the grain, hops, or something else, I can't tell.

Taste - refreshing, clean malts. Complementary flavors of orange and coriander provide some character without getting very sweet or heavy. Clean on the swallow and finish, carbonation cleansing the palate somewhat.

Mouthfeel - light but with a note of smoothness. Good crispness, well done.

Drinkability - an easy session beer found locally on my trip to Myrtle this summer.

Pours a light slightly hazy yeloow color with a thick head which disappates to nothing with no lacing. The aroma is faint hints of wheat and orange present but not overly inviting. The taste is light wheat for a backbone with hints of orange but nothing over whelming. The taste was typical of a wit but without the complexity of a very good wit. The mothfeel is moderately carbonated and slightly creamy. The drinkability is okay, its a very easy drink but not something you would want over and over. You could do a sixer but it wouldn't be your first choice.

Aroma: Citrusy. Light spice. Wheat malt.

Appearance: Thick white head. Dissipates quickly. Light golden color. Very cloudy. No lacing.

Flavor: I notice raw wheat flavor immediately. Slight orange with hints of lemon. Low levels of coriander.

Mouthfeel: High carbonation. Thin mouthfeel. Alcohol not noticeable.

Overall: Light and refreshing. Lower level of spiciness and Belgian character than expected. Would drink several of these on a hot summer day, but doesn't exemplify style.

beer pours a golden colour with some haze and very little head. Definite citrus smell that gets me excited, but not too much. Wheat and citrus are the overwhelming tastes, but it's nothing to write home about. Feels pretty average to drink, but it does go down relatively smooth, and while i won't be having another one, it is easily drinkable

(From notes)

A - Very light yellow color that's only slightly hazy; poured with absolutely no head whatsoever

S - Lightly yeasty and citrusy, but a struggle to really pick anything out

T - Yeasty and a bit grainy only a faint hint of fruitiness/citrus; pretty bland

M - Watery, thin, and really muted carbonation

D - Not great drinking, and I'm not sure that this even qualifies for the style

Overall, wouldn't bother with this again if given the opportunity.

Perhaps one of the best white ales that I have ever had if not THE best. Cloudy straw color with an average head. Some pungency of fruit in the nose. The flavor is smooth and feels nice in the mouth. Almost a syrupy quality to the mouthfeel. The finish emits a flavor that both my wife and I agree makes you think you are drinking a wine. I think its great, but will admit that its a unique enough beer I could see some folks not liking it. I gave it an A.

Tangerine in color with just some slight haze. Nose was just hitning at some spices and wheat but not much else. Flavor was a bit understated and a tad metallic actually. Slight tints of wheat. Overly understated and unexceptional. Good enough in a pinch but I was happy to move after my single pint. Mouthfeel was light and had a metallic ting to it I thought. Not particularly fond of this beer.

A little bland for my tastes compared to other more true representatives of this style, but slightly spiced, smooth and easy to drink. It went down easily after a hot day on the golf course. At $10 for a pitcher, the price was right.
A good session beer, but nothing outstanding.

Hazy apricot pour with a dense, but brief head of white. Large, cascading bubbles allows for a thin veil to remain.

Typical aromas of sweet and tart citrus, wheat, and coriander spice.

Flavor is decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. Sweet citrus and slightly tart wheat flavors along with powdery fruit and spicey coriander.

Light mouthfeel feels fuller due to big bubbles. Slick, quenching texture. Easily quaffable.
