This IPA is a delightful balance of caramel maltiness and both hop bitterness and flavor. Five different malt varieties, and flaked oats, combine to provide a sturdy foundation for the Columbus, Cascade, and Centennial hops that are added at various times during the boil. Hop Quake has a slightly earthy bitterness that is met with a citrusy, floral hop flavor and powerful aroma that is certain to give the drinker a clean and enjoyable IPA experience.

Pours amber with a nice little head. Sweet floral smell. Bitterness dominates the taste. Less hop more malt on the taste end. Overall an ok IPA.

This decent brew is mistakenly named, as "Malt Quake" would be more appropriate. Looks and smells great, but a bit on the thin side and underwhelming given my expectations. Still solid, just not "amaze."

Brewery calls it an "Oatmeal IPA"; from the tap at the brewery. Copper/orange color; grainy/malty aroma. Flavor has hints of citrus and pine and a dry, bitter finish.

Very malt forward, thin but silky mouthfeel and a disappointing lack of hop flavor. Based off the name, the description on the bottle and the hop combination i expected more citrus but was met with mostly dank musty flavors.

Bottled 10/20/15

Pours murky and hazy orange. Little head and leaves a firm collar throughout. 3.75

Smells like lemon juice and fresh cut grass with a hefty dose of cracker and bread. A little catty. 4.0

Taste is all subdued lemony flavors overtaken by bread and animal cracker malt flavors. Low bitterness initially. 3.75

Feel is fairly thin and even a bit watery. Leaves very little aftertatse. Medium carbonation. 3.0

This is not an on your face IPA exploding with citrus and pine. But it does have a decent hop profile, although it is really held back by the malts. Not necessarily a bad thing bit not something I expected with something called Hop Quake. The mouthfeel is the shortfall in this one but otherwise its ok. 3.5

The name doesn't accurately depicted in this beer. It's not overly Hoppe has a good combination of hops and multi taste.
