Got this in the mail for the beer of the month club that meine mutter got me for Christmas.
Bottle into pint glass.
A: Nice head over pale body. Lots of sediment in the bottom. Decent lacing.
S&T: Strong on coriander and orange. Under these a bit of clove. I also get a bit of popcorn butter flavor. Diacetyls come on kinda strong as brew warms.
M: Nice feel on this one. Medium light in body.
O: Not my favorite, but I've never been one to like orange and coriander additives. If you like these spices in brews then this bier might just be up your alley.

I am still reducing my backlog of bottles, but I have been impressed so far with this brewery's beers. My thanks to the Friendly Greek Bottle Shop for making them available to us.
From the bottle: "Stop by & visit us in Spartanburg[,]SC"; "Our spin on a Belgian-style white ale is a beer drinker's dream. Brewed with a pinch of coriander and a twist of orange peel, this is the perfect anytime ale. When served with a slice of citrus, it delivers a whirlwind of flavor and a crisp finish."
I wanted to ensure that this Wit was Wit-like and so I really agitated it in the bottle before beginning the pour. I also used a heavy hand, which also helped to stir things up and create a pseudo-cascade. This settled into two foamy fingers of eggshell-white head with moderate retention. Color was a cloudy golden-yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose was muted for the style and seemed to have a perfume-like sweetness to go with the distinctive wheat tang . Hmm. Mouthfeel was on the thin side and the taste was rather muted, only mildly spicy, with the wheat tang providing most of what there was in terms of flavor. Finish was semi-dry with a slight tartness that suggested that it might benefit from "a slice of citrus", probably in the form of an orange. Color me unimpressed.
