Our spin on a Belgian wit is a beer drinker's dream. Brewed with a pinch of coriander and a twist of orange peel, this is the perfect anytime ale. When served with a slice of citrus, it delivers a whirlwind of flavor and a crisp finish.

Appearance: Solid orange-gold with amazing suspended carbonation/yeast. Ok lacing.

Smell: Cardamon, coriander, and caramel.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Heavy notes of coriander and clove. A bit too much nutmeg for me but i like the yeasty carbonation.

Overall Drinkability: A worthy witty wit.

an average witbier, color was a semi-cloudy orangeish. Aroma was very light with just a touch of spice coming through. Taste was very light, yet crisp and refreshing. Orange peel and a sprinkle of spice are the flavors. This beer finishes light and is acrisp and refreshing at the finish

Served from tap into a Lonerider shaker. Poured a golden pale yellow with a minimal white head. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, fruit, wheat, banana, and subtle earth. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, banana, fruit, and subtle earth. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. Very well balanced and easy drinking would be the best way I would describe this one. Didn't really have a lot to set it above the rest of the style, but is still a very solid offering that most fans of the style would enjoy. Definitely worth your time trying this one at least once.

RJ Rockers Witty Twister has a thin, white head, scant lacing, and a murky, yellow-gold appearance, especially after the bottom contents of the bottle are swished & poured in. The aroma is strong- coriander spice, sweetness, and spicy wheat bread. Taste is of those elements, with a twinkle of orange peel. Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat prickly, and RJ Rockers Witty Twister finishes semi-dry and easy drinking.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains wheat, bananas, citrus, light caramelized malts and touches of Belgian yeast and hops.

T: The taste starts out with flavors of tart citrus and mild spices followed by some breadiness from Belgian yeast, wheat and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. The hops presence is mild as it should be but there isn’t much balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly tart.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium-to-high carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, just a mediocre beer overall and there are certainly a lot of other beers in the style that are better.

Picked up a six at Butler's for 6.99. I like the style so how can I pass that up, had to give it a try. I like the spice both in the smell and the taste which made it interesting. This is a pretty good beer and one that I enjoyed. Would by again at that cost and value but would not spend a lot otherwise to have it again.

I am still reducing my backlog of bottles, but I have been impressed so far with this brewery's beers. My thanks to the Friendly Greek Bottle Shop for making them available to us.

From the bottle: "Stop by & visit us in Spartanburg[,]SC"; "Our spin on a Belgian-style white ale is a beer drinker's dream. Brewed with a pinch of coriander and a twist of orange peel, this is the perfect anytime ale. When served with a slice of citrus, it delivers a whirlwind of flavor and a crisp finish."

I wanted to ensure that this Wit was Wit-like and so I really agitated it in the bottle before beginning the pour. I also used a heavy hand, which also helped to stir things up and create a pseudo-cascade. This settled into two foamy fingers of eggshell-white head with moderate retention. Color was a cloudy golden-yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose was muted for the style and seemed to have a perfume-like sweetness to go with the distinctive wheat tang . Hmm. Mouthfeel was on the thin side and the taste was rather muted, only mildly spicy, with the wheat tang providing most of what there was in terms of flavor. Finish was semi-dry with a slight tartness that suggested that it might benefit from "a slice of citrus", probably in the form of an orange. Color me unimpressed.

Nice wheat profile, bready and malty with some hops to finish. The orange zest is a little much for me and theres a metalic funk in the aftertaste. That said this is drinkable and refreshing.
