Our American pale ale is aggressively hopped with Challenger and Cascade and has a sweet caramel finish. The flavor that launched RJ Rockers – and brewer Mark Johnsen’s personal fave.

Pours a lighter copper color with some carbonation bubbles. 1-finger white head with minimal lacing.
The scent is very subtle--citrus & floral hops with a surprising bit of roasted malts. The taste is mainly citrusy/grassy hops up front, and a surprising bit of roasted barley, but it's all rather subdued with the exception of the up-front bitterness. Mouthfeel is crisp but quickly flattens out.
Overall, this is a fairly sessionable APA, but it's nothing to get excited about.

06/27/13 On tap at Rattle N Hum, NYC. Best feature here is the lacing which I hear is an indicator of a well made brew. For what it's worth this axiom holds true here. The body/mouth feel is excellent. The bitter notes are there, but not too rambunctious, so I think we'll get along just fine. I'm finding these Rocker guys are full of pleasant surprises.

Poured into a standard pint glass: color is amber and opaque, somewhat dense looking; head is off white and presents at 1 inch thick then dissipates to a solid top about 1/4 inch thick;
Aroma is pleasant, solid malt profile, with light caramel, hops are grassy and earthy; subtle sour off note is present.
Taste is a pleasant and malt forward, caramel is complimenting to the pale malts; hops are a touch fruity and the fermentation leaves a fruitier note.
Mouthfeel is a bit dry and biting on the tongue.
Overall, a solid pale ale with some possible fermentation issues, as all of the rockers beers had in this mix case.
