Extra sent by ridglens so thanks to him! No freshness info. Enjoyed on 08/22/11.

A - A little darker than expected. A hazy bright orange color with a small white head. Leaves very little lacing.

S - Smell is sugary sweet with the pale wheat aroma and the peach flavoring as well. Doesn't necessarily smell like natural peaches but I actually like it anyway.

T - Similar to the nose. Very sweet with the peach really coming through on the back end. Wheat sweetness up front. Finishes with a nice fruity flavor.

M - The mouthfeel is good. Nice and creamy with pretty low carb for a APWA.

O - Overall, this was a very enjoyable beer. Unique for sure.

It's cloudy like pond water, though I appreciate seeing peach sediment floating in the liquid. I guess the peaches give this style quite a twist, but it looks just peachy from my perspective!

The smell is excellent. Again, it diverts from the style template but, objectively, it smells like an air freshener. The aroma leaves no doubt that this here beer's made with real peaches. They're probably from Gaffney, and smelling this beer conjures up images of the enormous peach water tower on the side of the I-85 near Spartanburg. Straight real peach.

The taste doesn't quite match the hitherto examination, probably because it's stronger than your average fruit (particularly peach) beer. It's definitely solid, but it's reminiscent of PJ days--I don't know why we called it that, but it was fruit soaked in grain alcohol. I don't even recall peaches being involved, but this beer equals peach plus alcohol. If it was just a wee bit lighter on the ethanol, it might taste even better; regardless, it's a solid peach beer. I must've made some progress with style consideration, because I might rank this beverage categorically higher if it were classified as a fruit beer....

It's that relatively potent 5.8% ABV that contributes to a slightly chalky mouthfeel. The peaches are great and, to RJ's credit, you taste them more than you feel them. I appreciate the idea of fruit beers for beer lovers (as opposed to fruity, even girly, convert-type beers), and this is undoubtedly one of those.

It is fruity, and it does have relative strength, so that makes for a weird type of drinkability judgement. I wish they'd make both a more powerful and a more subtle version--somehow add more carbonation with less ethanol production (move towards Festina Pesche) with a more pungent-peachy alcohol bomb (move toward something like Fort or the upcoming Sweetwater Blue Balls). RJ Rockers has something here, and they should roll with it.

Appearance: 1 inch head, hazy, orange-brown in color, moderate carbonation

Smell: sour peach mix

Taste: peach, white grape, wheat, and light hops

Mouthfeel: sweet with light bitterness, light bodied with moderate carbonation

Overall: An above average peachy ale that has enough bitterness to balance out the fruit. Nothing groundbreaking, but I could see myself finishing off a six pack quickly during the warmer months.

Cloudy off orange pour with a small white head and minimal lacing. Artificial peach aroma, artificial peach flavor. Really not much else here. If you’re gonna make a peach brew at least make it taste like real, fresh peaches, not cheap, sticky sweet ones. As you may have guessed, didn’t think too much of this one. Sticky sweet finish and average carbonation. Can't believe this is their most popular beer. The girls must love it. That's probably the only market for it. The kind of girls that used to be a high school parties with wine coolers.

12 oz bottle served in a pint glass.

A - a cloudy light orange with visible particles in suspension and settling on the bottom. Looks thick. Has an off-white head with limited retention.

Aroma: Peach pie! Really strong impression of peach pie nearly hides some subtle notes of baked bread and light toasted grain. Smells very sweet.

T - Some sweetness in the taste, but a bit more tartness and some bitterness. Peach flavor remains, but becomes more like a liquor and less like a pie compared to the aroma. A tart wheat ale taste finally emerges in the finish and aftertaste, accompanied by canned peaches.

M: medium-to-full bodied; good carbonation level. Despite a near syrupy feel, there's some dryness on the finish.

O - a very peachy ale: a good candidate for the official state beer of SC.

Poured from a growler

A - Hazy, yellow with a light peach, orange accents to it. Had a small one finger head to it that settled down.

S - Smells like a peach ring candy with light wheat accents mixed in.

T - Frist there is a slight wheat flavors and bitterness. There are hints of the peach but not as much as is the nose. It has a bit too much of a bitter hints in the back end for my taste which seems a bit off balanced for the rest of the beer. I really wished it tasted more like it smelled

MF - Light carbonation with slightly watery mouthfeel.

O - An okay beer that isn't too bad on a hot summer day. The bitter flavors are a bit offputting and seem to make it have a bit of and off flavor.

I had this in Asheville, NC at the Thirsty Monk South. Happened to try this when a buddy ordered one. Color is amber/red. Aroma is of wheat and peaches. I'm not a huge peach fan, but this beer is refreshingly tasty. Fruit comes through well and is just sweet enough to be refreshing without being cloying. Would be a great beer on a hot day.
