Poured into a pint glass.
This is a stout - what do you expect? It's very dark, with just a smidge of red light coming through. The head was a khaki color, and was pretty fluffy when poured. It was around two fingers, and it went away pretty quick. No lacing on this one.
Obviously, coffee comes through in a big way - but not over the top. It's more of a roasted barley malt type of coffee rather than a deep espresso character. There's some nice milky sweetness in the nose as well, as well as some roastiness and a slight breadiness. It smells like a well-made stout with a fair amount of sweet coffee, and it's very lovely
One of the smooter coffee stouts I've had. It definitely has a huge coffee flavor, but is met with some lovely sweetness and bitterness. The sweetness is sort of milky, but doesn't make it taste like an iced latte like other coffee stouts. There is a nice amount of bitterness from the hops, and the coffee gives it a nice acidic bitterness that pairs well with the sweetness. The beer is very balanced, and the coffee is big but not overpowering at all.
This brew is a wonderful blend of being drinkable while having a nice body. It tastes and feels like there's a good amount of lactose sugar in it, but I don't know if there is any in this beer. Not much carbonation to speak of, which adds to the creamy mouthfeel.
This was an extra in a trade, and I'm glad that it was! It's very smooth and balanced, and it has just the right amount of body. This is an extremely well-made beer that I previously have not heard of. I am glad I got the chance to drink this, and I'd love to try it again.

On nitro-tap at Bernie's in Waukesha, WI. Pours a dark brown color with a creamy light brown head. The aroma is rich with coffee. The taste is smooth and easy drinking. Robust flavors but not too heavy. Has a smooth, maltly flavor that is well-balanced. Nice find on nitro.

Great beer, not necessarily an easy beer but definitely not pretentious. Great nose of roasted grains and black coffee. A bit more carbonation than expected but it worked. This is a great choice for the stout fan or coffee lover. Not a quaffer but not a one pint princes. Overall better than average for the style, an overall good choice.
