Poure out of the tap with the beautiful nitro cascade that resulted in a super creamy two finger head. Nose was freshly pressed coffee with hints of dry cocoa and dark chocolate. Taste starts off with chocolate notes that is quickly replaced by a really nice bold coffee flavor - coffee is very rich and well accented. The coffee is mixed in with some dark chocolates and bitter cocoa. Really nice coffee beer. Mouth is creamy and smooth. Overall, really enjoyed this one - one of the better coffee beers I have tried.

Appearance: It's such an incredible abyss of darkness of light may not enter nor exit. On top is a light beige head a good two fingers thick.

Aroma: Large amounts of dark roasted coffee in the front. Cocao, semi sweet chocolate, faint vanilla bean, bourbon notes. Twinges of burnt hops and dark roasted malts.

Taste: Very dark roasted coffee, silky smooth mouthfeel like melted dark chocolate. Burnt hop, chocolate notes all through it. Cocao, vanilla, with a solid malt backbone.

Notes: Very tasty a very drinkable American stout begining to end. Cheers.

Pint bottle. Dark dark brown pour, miniscule light tan head.

Aroma, coffee, roast malt, light anise and cocoa.

Taste, coffee, near burnt malt, dark chocolate. Anise, light pine peaks through at the end.

Light side of mid bodied. Just a tad watery, but the carbonation is light so it is not prickly. Drinks pretty easy.
A bit one dimensional, but it is advertised as such. Worth trying, a pretty sessionable coffee stout.

Luna Coffee Stout
Hinterland Brewery Restaurant

LOOK: Pours a dark brown, with a creamy tan foam.

SMELL: Roasted malt and coffee aromas, very strong smelling.

TASTE: Premium coffee flavors like mocha, char, smoke, roasted malts, and mild vanilla. Abrasively bitter yet remarkably smooth. Very tasty and drinkable.

MOUTHFEEL: Ridiculously smooth and creamy.

OVERALL: Impressive stout, strong coffee notes, and I can dig it.

May have poured it too cold, because I dont really get any bubbles or head. hm. Body is pitch black.

Kind of smells like Wake n Bake or FBS. Nice coffee presence with a bit of bitter chocolate floating around in the background.

Oh bitter. oh so freaking bitter. Upfront with espresso beans and 100% Dark bakers chocolate. The base beer is a bit weak, All i get are the coffee and chocolate. Too bitter and unbalanced.

Appearance is rich black with brown hints. It has a bubbly head with some lacing.

Nose is rich coffee with sweet malt and toffee.

Taste is plenty of smoke. Coffee tastes burnt. Malt is roasted and tasty; not very sweet at all.

Mouthfeel feels a bit flat: lacking in carbonation but still refreshing.

Overall, it is an alright coffee stout.

Maybe I got a bad bottle but this beer was disappointing. I was expecting a nice frothy stout but got a metallic taste instead. Jet black pour with a medium tan head. Smell is coffee and roasted malts. Flavor was not there, metallic and old coffee taste.
