500ml bottle from Non-Stop Mini Market, Bucharest (11.90 lei):
Dark, hazy golden topped with a 1cm, fine-bubbly white head that holds steady. Citrus, wheat & banana open the nose with zesty notes & a little spice. It's yeasty further on with a bit of sweetness & faint bubblegum coming through as well; a standard hefeweizen nose. The taste is quite zesty with an effervescent feel & banana flavours dominating. There's a touch more bubblegum here & a subtle, unexpected bitterness - it's okay not the best of the style though. It's a fairly standard hefeweizen, the balance isn't the best but it's okay with a lot of banana sweetness throughout & quite a bit of carbonation - not one I'd go for in Germany but it's drinkable.

Maybe a bit better than the pale ale from the same brewery, but still off by a long shot from how a decent weizen should taste like. I might have been unlucky with a bad bottle.

A bold attempt on the Romanian market, bringing a (mostly) unknown style of beer to the public under a Romanian traditional label, but it does have its charm, and not only for the local market. This should be nice, being brewed by Memminger, hopefully they don't just ship their weakest batch over here.
Looks like a typical weizen, nice head, maybe just a bit too much fizz. The mouthfeel follows suit, the carbonation should have been a tad lower.
Smells nice, classic banana and clove, also a slight green herbal scent.
Taste is nice. Not a heavy wheaty weizen, but with a classic balance between the banana fruitiness (with some faint green apple), the classic spice (nicely scented clove) and the dense wheaty malt. The hoppy bitterness is decent in the finish, but still not the star of this (and many other) weizen.
Locally, the price is lower than any other imported bottled weizens, and it does surpass some of them in quality. A nice classic weizen, a nice session beer, more than decent actually.

Brewed in Germany for the romanian market. You can find it only in Romania, bottled and also on tap.
Revisited 05.17.17:
Hazy orange color with off-white head. Aroma has fermented grains and overripe, mushy banana. Taste follows with slightly tart fermented fruits, wheat notes and a dusty bitterness on the finish. Medium to light bodied with medium carbonation. Much different from my first experience with this beer.
Review from 12.12.12:
500 ml bottle, poured into a Weizen glass.
Pale, cloudy orange color with large head that has excellent retention and good lacing.
Although I'm having it cold, the aroma is strong: wheat, yeast and lots of banana.
Taste is also strong and pleasant. Classic german hefeweizen with it's fruity wheat taste.
Body feels light and smooth and carbonation is low, making it very drinkable.
My expectations were very low for this beer, mainly because I had the other Nenea Iancu beer (Bere Blonda Speciala) and I didn't like it at all. But this one was surprisingly good. One of the few good local beers in Romania.
