Was there during happy hour, so beers were cheep. Wasn't very busy but I was pleased enough with the atmosphere, quiet, with cool blues playing at a reasonable volume.

Odell's 90 shilling was tasty and fresh. Friend ravioli was fabulous.

The decor and bottle selection for liquor was quite good. Lots of nice wood in the bar area especially.

Would like to try it when it's more hoppingly busy, but I'm happy enough having a brew and a snack too.

Crown Pub could quickly become a Fort Collins institution... Great food, Great location, Great service, but a very disappointing brew list... I was very surprised by their below par brew list. Most every restaurant in Fort Collins has their exact brew list. I had a Mighty Arrow and 5 Barrel Pale. My friend had a 10.10.10 (NB not Stone). All of these brews are found at most every restaurant.

The service: Amazing, energetic, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. The guy knew his menu front to back and made great recommendations throughout all price ranges. I got bacon wrapped meatloaf, my friend lamb shank... Both, EXCELLENT!

The food selection is great the brew selection is sub-par... Well worth the time/money to give it a spin, enjoy the small feel with huge flavors.

Well done Crown Pub, I'll be back time and time again A+

p.s. I could tell our server was disappointed in his brew menu

Cool downtown bar with a great selection of beer on tap and in bottles; really, it's impressive. I mean, where else can you buy a bomber of Duvel?. Pretty good food (I suggest the fish 'n' chips), cute waitresses. live music downstairs with another bar. I celebrated New Years 2009 here and had an absolute blast. The service can be lengthy if it's busy, and it does get very busy on weekends and holidays.

Bottom line: impress your out of town friends with imported beers they've never had before, served by a hot busty waitress.

The Crown Pub is located in old town Fort Collins. Parking is kind of pain there, especially on weekends, but there is a parking garage about a block and a half away (to the west on Mountain St). Inside there is a bar to the left and booth seats to the right. There always is a long bar and additional sitting downstairs. Mostly considered an English style bar, there is a old alehouse feel to bar.

The beer selection emphasizes on local and English style beers. They always have Odell's, New Belgium and Fort Collins. They do have a beer engine on as well. I typically get Odell's Nitro Cutthroat or Boddington's off nitro. Their web site has a decent list of what they have. They don't have anything that is rare or hard to find but they do offer up some seasonal beers. Overall their selection is ok but not great.

The food stays towards the English pub style and one of the reasons why they are so successful. I'm not a big fish guy but I have heard that they have the best fish n chips in town. And calamari. I enjoy the shepherd's pie and pork chops. Really any English/Scottish type food is going to be good. I would not recommend the burgers though, as there are better selections, but their burgers are on par with any burger joint.

The services is hit or miss. And its is dependent on when you go. If you go on a Friday night or Saturday, be prepared to be patient. The waiters/waitresses are not that knowledgeable about beer. You will have better luck talking to the bar tender, but they can be limited as well.

The extras. They do have a great whisky and scotch selection. Overall, come for the food.

Went there this weekend. Extremely crowded; the hostess told us that it was seat yourself. That seemed a bit weird for a place like this on a Fri. night. Both upstairs and downstairs had nowhere to sit or really stand, esp near the bar. Seemed too loud in there, and beer-wise it looked more run of the mill. IF you are into scotch on the other hand, their selection looked great. But, this is a beer rating of course! Perhaps mid-week it would have been a better atmosphere and we would have been more likely to try to eat there.. but on the weekend, there are too many people in old town fort collins to eat pretty much anywhere without an hour wait. The Crown pub must rank as one of the top places in Fort Collins to go for some good beer, decent service and good food. They regularly keep the mainstream beers of the two major microbreweries in town - Odells and New Belgium's. In addition, they have several other good beers from outside Fort Collins. The Levity Nitro beer over there is very popular and worth a try.
Although it's not a huge establishment, they offer seating in the front patio as well as the back patio in summers. In addition to those, they have fair seating space on the main level and a full fledged bar with some seating in the basement as well. Service in the back patio is somewhat slower, though.
If you're put up close to downtown, their brunch menu on Sat and Sun is to die for. An advice from a local guy.

Two reviews in one. On Friday I was there wor a pint at happy hour. Cool place. Had a Sunshine Wheat and chips. Wife enjoyed the place. Decent selection. On Saturday came in for a late dinner with friends. A party of eight. Food was great, beer was good, (we were already lit from the NBB Tour de Fat.) Took an exceptionally long time to get our food. Table behind us went through two couples in the time it took us to eat. Once again food was great. Service average. Will go back. Cool place. $15 each for sandwich and beer. Gratuity included. I think our server was banking on that.

First stop when we hit FC was the crown pub. Seemed like an average English pub type bar. It is right on college St. which is the main drag of the town, pretty convenient and in a nice setting.

Overall, the atmosphere was so-so, i gave it points for effort, but there was nothing really to distinguish this place from any other English-pub type bar.

The beer choices were o.k. but there seemed to be a lack of English/Irish beer. Sure there was Guinness, but not much else regional beer to go with the regional decor. They did have a few local craft brews on tap, but the bottled selections had stuff like red stripe, and that seems kind of out of place.

I probably wouldn't go here again, but it is alright in a pinch. I had the fish and chips and they were pretty good. kind of pricey, but I'm a cheap bastard.

Because of its central location in downtown Fort Collins I visited this place twice on a recent trip. This establishment is trying to be a British Pub, I’ve seen worse attempts but Crown Pub still has the overwhelming American feel to it. There are two levels. Upstairs (the main floor) has a decent sized bar on the left hand side as you walk in, on the opposite wall are some tables/booths and in the back are high tables. There are a couple TVs above the bar. Music was playing in the background.

On my first visit we (Jeff (prAna) and his family and my girlfriend) sat downstairs. It was a tad dark but comfortable. There is a smaller bar on this floor with the same offerings as above. One TV. The service was good, even though our Ben & Jerry’s ice cream wasn’t welcomed. The food menu caught my girlfriend’s eye and we returned the next day for lunch. We both had the chicken curry and it was quite tasty.

During our visits the tap list had three offerings from both NB and Odell and one offering from Fort Collins Brewery. SNPA and a couple of fair imports filled out the rest of the taps. The bottle list had a few duds and a few goodies. The beer was served in slightly chilled glasses.

All in all this is a laid back, friendly place that offers enough interesting beer and food to return.

Located in Fort Collins' Old Town downtown section, this style pub tries hard to be British but just can't seem to shake off it's American roots. Not a bad place, just a little too new and tidy to look like it was made that way.

In all, full bar with 16 taps and a good selection of local brews. Full kitchen but didn't try the menu -- seemed to be a lot of fresh seafood dishes. Crowd tends to be just slightly older than what is typical in this college town.

There is room for a live band in back and it is well separated from the bar area, so noise from the performance is not an issue.... however, the piped music in the common area is still too loud to allow for easy conversation.
