A - Pours the brighest transparent yellow I have ever seen from a beer with a two finger bubbly white head. The head disappears within 2 seconds, and the beer has no lacing.

S - Smells of extremely light corn adjunct and some kind of funky sour mash? Smells kind of like a Foster's.

T - For the first time ever, I can honestly say that I have had a beer with absolutely no taste. This beer literally has nothing in the taste department other than extremely slight seltzer water far off into the background.

M - The mouthfeel brings virtually nothing new to the table other than a faint amount of rice adjunct. But overall it remains very flavorless.

O - Overall, this beer wins an award in my opinion. The award for blandest beer I have ever had. They shouldn't even brew this stuff, it actually has less flavor than Bud Light. Luckily, I didn't pay for it, as I had it at a party. The party was definitely some fun after knocking back 10 of these though!

Can into tulip pint.

A vigorous pour yields 3 fluffy white fingers of head. Those three fingers fizzled down to a light film and a collar around the rim after a short time. The film faded, but the rim held on for some time.
Very clear, bright straw-gold. Really fizzy.

Smells lightly grainy with a light bitterness. The taste is pretty dry with a slight sour-mashy grainy tart note.

Watery, thin, light, and highly carbonated. This is pretty much spot on for the style.

Overall-- not a very good beer, even for the style. I didn't know this was brewed by Pabst... Personally I'd rather just have a PBR.

Best by date code of Mar0512 was checked because the store I picked this up from had other beers that were outdated.

A moderate pour netted half a finger of gossamer white head that rushed itself into a disappearing act. In less than 30 seconds I was left with nothing more than a ring around the top of this beer. Body is a light straw yellow with a weak stream of bubbles floating lazily from the middle of the bottom to the top. No lacing to speak of.

Smells of grain, corn and hops with a slight metallic tinge.

Corn starts off the flavor and quickly transitions to grain. It took me a few sips to notice it, but you can taste grassy hops in this beer. Gladly, the metallic odor does not translate over to the taste. It has a sweetness throughout the whole flavor tour.

Light bodied, this is a lawn mower beer or weekend party through and through. It's slightly sticky and coats the tongue a little going down. Also slightly drying.

Pours a light straw color, quickly fading white head and lots of bubbles.

Smell is faint but of grain, corn and some hops.

Taste is grainy in the middle and finishes with a bit of hops. Nice to actually have hops in there, finishes slightly dry. Mouthfeel is light and highly carbonated, refreshing.

An okay beer, better than the average macro but not better than anything else.

Drank this from the can at a Christmas Eve get together. Usually I wouldn't review under these circumstances, but when else am I going to have a Stroh's handed to me.

The nose was grainy and a bit metallic, but there's a noticeable hop aroma. The taste is mildly grainy with a really nice grassy, earthy, bitter hop characteristic. There are also some fruity notes, but not necessarily off flavors. This is a very crisp, light beer that's a little heavily carbonated.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed this. For the style the hops were impeccable. The grainy qualities were kept to a minimum and it was easy to drink.

Along with Miller High Life and PBR, I think this is one of the better American macro lagers.

Not sure how macro the brand is, anymore, but this is a Grandpa beer. It no longer has much of the caramel notes that it had when it was "fire brewed."

What it's got going for it now is bittering hops. For an American macro lager, all I really ask of it is that it taste like beer. This tastes like beer. There is a mixed barley and corn grainy dryness here as well, but it has a clean hop bitterness and a slight sourness in the finish.

It succeeds at being all that it's trying to be. And how many of us can say that?

Strohs is a light colored beer with a quickly dissipating head. For the style it goes down nice and simple if you get a nice batch. Not a lot to talk with the taste. Really like that you can buy a 15 pack. made by pabst better then the bud or miller offerings

Yellow to straw and clear, fizzy, but the head was surprisingly decent and left some decent lacing too. Tons of rising bubbles.

Grains and grassy aromas, maybe a touch of hops, adjuncts round out the smell.

Taste followed the smell, lots of corn and grains with a little bit of hops and nothing too special.

Feel is light and well carbonated, fizzy.

Overall it's quite unimpressive but not entirely undrinkable.

Pours a clear, straw color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of slight sweet malt, pale malt, grain, and slight citrus hops. Fits the style of an American Adjunct Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of grain, pale malt, hint of sweet malt, and a hint of citrus hops. Overall, decent aroma, blend, and body for an American Adjunct Lager.

Quite a pale yellow beer, typical macro looks. Decent head, a little thicker than most and lasts about as long as any mass-produced AAL; that is, not very long. Not much visible carbonation, glass like clarity. Boring looks. Smell is grainy, a faint hops nose, subtle metallic aroma, wet grass. Taste has a brief flash of grainy sweetness, fades quickly to adjunct/barley lager tastes. Minimal hops bitterness, clean finish. About average tastes. Light, bubbly carbonation, a little too much for my tastes, but not bad overall.

In the interest of not trashing a beer I love, this review will be a bit more "to-style".

Brilliant light yellow with a single finger, quickly receding, white head. Some lace, but not much.

They must do a short boil on this, cause I get that corn smell. A hint of earthy hops, grain.

Brisk. Cheap grain taste, but has the slightest hint of citrus and pine. More bitter than most beers of the style.

Light-bodied and effervescent, what else?

Overall, I definitely think that Stroh's is one of the best, if not THE best, of the macro adjunct lagers. The fact that the price is right only makes it better. While I would still rather have a well down craft ale, sometimes you just want a simple, cheap beer, and this fits the bill.

New a guy back in the day that swore by this stuff, all he drank. I have a bar light up in my place of this stuff. Yellow beer, sudsy white head, more than your average adjunct, but it goes the way of the dodo right quick. Lager yeast, corn aroma, smelled worse.

Not much going on here, barely a malt and hop presence, balanced in terms of its sweetness. Maybe a little more bitter than most in its style. Seems like the stuff gets sold over brand loyalty moreso than uniqueness of the product, most comparable to Coors banquet beer I'd say.

A decent mass produced beer, dependable for some mass drinking where you don't want to bother wasting your $ and palate on high end brews after you're already trashed.

I wonder how many people referenced '30 pack of Stroh's, 30 pack of ho's' in their review?

12oz can
Served in a pint glass

A - It pours straw yellow with plenty of white head that, of course, disappears almost immediately.

S - The aroma is sweet malt. No surprises here.

T - There is actually more taste than most adjuncts. Some malt and, I may be stretching here, but some ever so feint hops.

M - Damn near water.

O - It just doesn't have that Detroit River water taste anymore.

Review of the 5% version brewed in Canada by Sleeman. 15 pack of 355 mL cans for about $20...

Pours a pale straw yellow with a moderate foamy head that burns off after a few minutes and leaves a thin colour. Lots of visible carbonation. Very average-looking adjunct lager.

Smells typical, which is to say not good. Corn syrup, a rice-like graininess and the faint smell of rubbing alcohol.

The taste fares alright at first and it's got a very surprising bitter bite on the tongue. Unfortunately, after that it's all corn syrup and a slight sour astringent note.

Mouthfeel is crisp and watery with practically no body. It sure goes down easy. Too easy, it makes me gassy.

The wife has me on a beer budget this week and I needed something to last me a weekend. Its really no worse than most premium-priced domestics in the same vein and actually better than most comparably-priced beers. It's still pretty gross though.

If what you're looking for is a cheap beer to keep your fridge full, this is my first suggestion. It's not much different from others in this category, ie. macro brew adjunct lager, yet the one thing that sets it apart is hops. Granted it's no IPA (I'm no noob, I'm a certified hop head) but I swear to you, there is an essence of hop oil in this beer; certainly more than can be found in High Life. Oddly enough, I find it to be most present when imbibed directly from the can and not so much from the bottle or glass. Put it in a keeper-cooler on a hot day and get it before those annoying hipsters do (this'll be the next PBR on campus).

Got this one out of a mystery beer machine at the bowling alley in Evansville, WI.

Took it down straight from the can. Not a ton of flavor, some corn and grain. Nothing overpowering. Light bodied beer with plenty of carbonation. Went down smooth. Could drink a lot of these without a problem.

S-Faintly floral and lightly sweet grains.

T-Sweet grain with some corn and a faint hit of floral, crisp hops.

M-Light bodied with moderate carbonation and a slightly watery feel.

D-Really easy drinking cheap domestic beer that's nice every once in a while.

Yet another classic domestic cheap beer! From random notes: Pours a light golden yellow brew with an average white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of corn grits, some watery citrus peel and a touch of burnt ash. Flavor is light bodied, well carbonated, a gritty texture with flavors of watery corn syrup bread crust and some citrus. Finish is crisp, clean cut with a very short lasting bitterness.

A: Clear pale yellow with a good size head and a few rising bubbles. Leaves some lacing and keeps a ring for a ways down.

S: Rather faint sort of corny grain. Not really malty nor sweet. Maybe some faint cooked veggies. Not picking up any hops.

T: Now this is quite a bit better than the nose. Yeah it is a pretty bland sweet adjunct grainy base, but it is reasonably well balanced by some pleasantly herbal hops.

M: Medium body with a just barely firm CO2 that makes smooth drinking. Not bad at all.

D: Hop character in an American lager? It has a decent body and mouthfeel. Looks okay and tastes okay, but does fall down a bit on the nose. Still, it is a fair bit better than many others at its price and more than a few above it.

Pours with about two fingers of light, airy head that quickly dissipates. Liquid is bright gold and seems to have a bit more color than most adjunct lagers. Odor is grassy and mild, don't notice much from the malts. Tastes like grains or grass, fairly dry for this style. Stroh's is crisp and easy to drink, not too sweet and not sour or stale. If you're looking for a brew to buy in mass quantities for a party, you could do a lot worse.

This is good old, classic, Michigan beer. Brewed in Detroit until 2000, after the Stroh Brewing Company was bought out by Pabst.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.

It looks like your typical American Adjunct Lager. Very pale, white head that recedes within the first minute and a half to two minutes.

Smells of pale malt, lager yeast and some corn adjunct.

Tastes fairly crisp. Almost a clean lager flavor, with little adjunct detected, but there was some there. Very refeshing, with very faint, almost undetectable hop presence.

The mouthfeel was very light and watery, but still a very crisp, clean taste.

Light straw with a 2 finger head. Adequately carbonated. moderate head retention.

Pale malt and super-clean yeast. Small, sweet hop aroma that gives it a not unpleasant sweet corn aroma with a hint of tang.

Pretty sweet. Very small bitterness and not metallic. A hint of sour apple tang. Very light. Flavor is only on the palate for a little while before it washes away.

Very thin, though not complete water like a michelobe ultra. Not over-carbonated.

Better than many others (anything bud except for the new wheat, which might be better).
