Pabst Blue Ribbon is brewed in the finest traditions of an American Premium Lager dating back to 1844. Brewed with a combination of 2 & 6-row malted barley, select cereal grains and American and European hops, Pabst Blue Ribbon is fermented with a proprietary lager yeast. Our unique fermentation and maturation process results in a smooth, full bodied beer with a clean, crisp finish with a fine noble hop aroma.

When poured into a tulip (the way absolutely nobody drinks this), it comes out clear yellow with a fluffy two finger head that dissipates quickly. Carbonation streaming up the side of the glass lends a champagne look to the beer. When first poured, there's a nice banana smell from a few inches away, but as you get closer, notes of creamed corn and wet cardboard come out, along with clean pale malt. At the front of the tongue it's pretty sweet with malt flavor, then it goes down watery without much flavor at all. There's a bit of corn on the back end but it's inoffensive compared to some other adjunct lagers. This isn't the worst choice you can make when on a tight budget. I still prefer to grab a Yuengling, which is in the same price range but isn't available everywhere.

Clear yellow color with a generous head that settles to a thin, foamy lace.
Aroma of cereal, raisins, light malts and citrus hints.
Taste was sweet, bitter hops.
The feel was medium carbonation, light body with a grainy finish.

Pissy yellow pour, frothy white head. Nose says corn and cheap grains as do the buds. Thin watery, but not awful. Terrible maybe.

Brewed by Stroh here in Guelph, Ontario, Canada - it's a good, cheap AAL($27.50 - Nova Scotia). I'd compare it to Canadian-brewed Labatt Blue. The worst part is honestly the smell; metallic, stale corn flakes. If you can get past the smell then you're good! it's beer regardless!

PBR is a great choice for a cheap beer that delivers on solid lager flavor. Not too much to write home about but a very underrated pick for a beer you can find just about anywhere.

golden yellow/straw in colour. slight musty smell upon opening. lots of streaming bubbles and nice off white head,
slightly sweet/faint corn taste. smooth, crisp, refreshing. good for a cheap lager. one thing of note i see where texas is given as pol. on the side of the can it still says milwaukee, wisconsin that is quite a mystery. i would go with the 12-pack cans as it is cheaper that way.

A - 12 oz can aggressively poured into 16 oz pint glass with 1 finger head that dissipated quickly. Moderate carbonation with bubbles at bottom of glass and some racing to the top. Golden clear appearance, similar to most other AALs. Lacing is left on glass after each swig.
S - Lager notes of bread and barley malt with hop notes.
T - A well balanced AAL with bready barley malt notes up front, corn flake note in background. Taste of european noble hops that is much more than any other American beers or Pabst subsidiaries. Very satisfying in regard to flavor balance. It tastes very different compared to Bud, Miller or Coors maybe from the hops or each different yeast cultures.
M - Tasty light and refreshing, a good session lager that works on a hot summer bbq or winter holiday party. Very balanced in regard to being flavorful and also light and refreshing. Not too heavy, cloying.
O - What would the world be without PBR? Almost the oldest beer in the US besides Yuengling, IMO it's the premier AAL even compared to it's other cooperate owned peers.

Can't get past the inexpensive beer taste (it has no flavors), the mouth feel, the Mean Joe Green stickers and memories of headaches. Maybe the headaches were due to quantities drank versus quality, but I think there is a correlation there somewhere. Would drink a super super cold one with oysters, but as a before dinner cocktail, no gras.
