- Pabst Blue Ribbon is brewed in the finest traditions of an American Premium Lager dating back to 1844. Brewed with a combination of 2 & 6-row malted barley, select cereal grains and American and European hops, Pabst Blue Ribbon is fermented with a proprietary lager yeast. Our unique fermentation and maturation process results in a smooth, full bodied beer with a clean, crisp finish with a fine noble hop aroma.

12oz can. Rating to "style."

A: Pours a clean light straw color with a coarse white head.

S: Corn husks, a little sweet, bready grain.

T: Slightly sweet grain, not nearly as corny as the aroma, very slight floral bitterness, wash of bready malt.

M: Light-bodied with moderate carbonation, ever-so-slightly fuller bodied than msot AALs.

O: One of my favorite AALs due to the bit of grainy sweetness that imparts a bit more character than its watery brothers.

A- Pours a super clear light maize with a good 2-3 finger head that disappears quickly. Thin hints of lacing on the glass. Champagne style bubbles rising up from the bottom of the glass.

S- A bit of a metallic scent but primarily the hops and a light sweet corn smell. And of course the alcohol is present as I find in many AALs

T- Some crisp hops and malt. The corn alcohol flavor is there but it is sweet. Clean short finish.

M- Has a higher carbonation than other AALs and although it's watery it still comes across with more body than others.

O- This is my choice when I just feel like having a beer and relaxing without going the the big huge flavors of real craft beers. I consider it to be the best choice for a "drink just to drink" beer. I feel that I must rate it according to how it compares to all beers. But if I was comparing it to other AALs it would get all 5's across the board.
