You can't do any better when going for cheap beer. In a world of Keystone and Natty Boh, PBR is King. It actually taste like BEER and not dirty water like some of the other cheap beers. Yes, it isn't anything to write home about, and if you have the money, there's no reason to buy it, but if you're looking for cheap beer and actually want something that has a taste, this is where to go.

I honestly don't get it, even in the style subpar. Most people like it for what it isn't rather than what it is. One of my least favorite AALs which is a style that I still gravitate to.

Better than Bud,Coors,Corona etc. classic AAL taste that has some taste at least. Beer buzz comes quickly for some reason and maybe that's why it has a weird allure in popular culture. 9 bucks for a twelver is good value and will finish/share till gone.

This beer is so overrated. Too sweet, overly carbonated and has a weird chemical aftertaste. In your face and up yours, you silly hipsters!, you just go on and keep on drinking this crap, you and your shitty PBR are so pathetic.

Was at a chain restaurant, tap selection was horrid. Hadn't had PBR since high school, was cheapest beer.

Beat my very low expectations. Would I ever buy again? No, unless in a similar situation.

4/16/15 (Can) - Light pour, no carbonation, head or aroma. Very thin texture and minimal taste. Smooth going down. Not very good, even at low price point.

The taste is ok; clean and crisp, if not very basic. This is however one skunks and funky smelling brew. I know it has a cult status amongst hipsters, but I fail to see the appeal besides the cheap price. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Good ole PBR! If you want a cheap beer that's better than bud, coors or miller then it's PBR. Golden Yellow with a nice foam head. Tastes like high school prom and finger banging Mary Jane rottencrotch in the back of my Trans Am on a backroad in Oklahoma. I'd recommend this beer to anyone. $9 for a 12 pack and surpasses every beer in it's class.

Reviewing solely on taste, not value, since I've never personally bought PBR.
PBR isn't terrible, but it's agreeably bland and tasteless. Like an economy towel you buy at a department store or an aging housewife with no hobbies.
Not interesting, and nothing special. I'd pick it up at the right dive bar over other light / stock beers any day of the week, but I also would normally be drinking something better.

This beer reminds me of the time I licked Stacie Andersons azz hole (my high school sweetheart) it looked good, smelled okay but of coarse it tasted like crap.

I can't be too hard on PBR. For the price, its the best cheap beer out there, and definitely the beer of choice if I just want to get drunk with friends. Definitely outcompetes Nattie Light, Busch Light, and all that other stuff

I like it as a session beer. It's not something to sit there and appreciate, just drink it. As a good friend of mine said, "It goes great with punk rock shows and smoking cigarettes."

I wanted something cheap and drinkable (Steel Reserve need not apply), and this was the best the gas station had to offer. I should have spent the exorbitant mark up and got something else. 6 tall boys were 5 too many.

Clear, straw appearance with a foamy, white head. Nice carbonation. Aroma of corn husks with maybe a slight hint of malts. Faint whiff of citrus. The citrus is a little more prominent in the flavor. There is also some sweetness from the malts with the corn showing up on the finish. The mouthfeel is a bit watery, but substantial enough to let you know what you're drinking is something more than H2O. Clean finish. Overall, It's a classic. No frills. Just an enjoyable beer perfect for someone looking for a nice refreshment on a hot day.

A: Crystal clear, golden straw color, nice 2 inch fluffy white head, decent lacing

S: Adjunct grains, little hop, crisp lager smell

T: Sweet adjunct grain, little hop to balance at the end

M: Light as you would expect, dry, crisp

O: Not bad for what it is. Picked it up from a gas station in the middle of nowhere on the way back from fishing in the gulf, so something has to be said for availability. I would take this over some of the other macros for sure.

Bright pale straw color. White 2 finger head lasting around 3 minutes. Average legs and activity.

Faint aromas and flavors of corn, citrus and sugar. A lot more bitter than sweet, slightly vinous.

Slick light body with prickly carbonation. Faint finish, but quite long, ending with a dry bitter smoky roasted corn aftertaste and fake sweetness.

Overall : Fresh but bland and overly accessible. Too bitter for a lager in my taste.

This is the best cheap adjunct lager. Pours a surprisingly thick and creamy head, and while it is watery it still has a nice, creamed corn taste. The only real complaint I have is the inconsistent feel. I've had this beer many, many times, and sometimes it's incredibly smooth, but it often has a stinging carbonation. Still, an excellent beer for what it costs.

I purchased a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) for $1.79 USD in Glendale, CA/USA.
Look: I could not see the appearance of Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) because it was in a can...
Smell: Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) had the aroma of roasted corn.
Taste: Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) had a taste of chemicals, grain, and faint malt flavours.
Feel: Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) lost its carbonation pretty fast.
Overall: People who seek cheap beer should try Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR).

Just a run-of-the-mill lager brew that is a good filler/cleanser between craft brews. Give it a 4 on feel... purely because of the cost/quality affect of having fun with beer. Nothing overpowering in this beer... but clean. Love that it comes in pint cans to wet the whistle after a long day in the yard, at the lake, or coming off the slopes.

The smell and the taste was good at first, much better than BMC, really malty and has some fruity and hoppy sense to it, but after leaving it for a few minutes, it just tasted horrible.

Serving: on tap at a St. Patrick Day. Probably need to try it again.

Mild malt aroma and taste. A bit better than a typical macro lager. Not a beer worth over analyzing. Enjoy it for what it is, cheap and drinkable almost anytime.

Purchased at the LCBO for around $2.00 for a 473ml can. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass.

A- Opens well and pours a small white head that is gone in seconds. Very light gold and clear

S- Not much here at all.

T- Unobtrusive which is nice. Not a lot of flavor. Just a mass produced pedestrian North American beer. Just like a Bud

M- Dry and crisp which is nice. Refreshing and can see this one being a treat on a hot summer day after cutting the grass

O- Just a Bud with a different label. Nothing special

Food Pairing

Yup! You guessed it. Pairs with.... anything you would pair a Bud with

Pretty much the only time you're going to "enjoy" one of these is at the end of the night when you've already had too much to drink. I read somewhere that every time a PBR is drank, a hipster gets his vintage bicycle.

Why have I waited so long to review this gem? I know it's one of the biggest love-hate beers around, and I happen to be a lover. The only macro I purchased regularly in college...a 30-pack a week while buying groceries in Arizona. Easy to drink and consistent. Personally, I think it's best from a can rather than draft and bottle.

Once upon a time, I was totally okay quaffing these down like water at parties. Now I am older and oh so slightly wiser (i.e. employed), so I recognize this as, well, shit. That said, I can't help but find this beer comforting in the right scenario, even if those scenarios are limited to getting this for free or being the cheapest not-Budweiser beer available at the concert venue. It may be decidedly low-tier, but there's no doubt there's a function for it somewhere in your life.
