The sample I tasted came from a Canadian Pabst franchised brewer; Sleemans of Guelph Ontario. If you know Sleemans, they make some of the best mega Canuck brews going; Sleemans cream ale and steam lager. The key to their meteoric success is quality control and uncompromising standards in ingredients.
This OM tasted reminisant of the ones I've tasted in the US but there was a distinct difference....this had taste and was at Canuck strenght - 5%. I'm not saying I like the taste of corn and alcohol in beer but this beer certain had flavor that it's US counter parts didn't.
It poured a medium yellow color with a good head that lasted through half the glass. The aroma was punctuated with cooked corn and CO2 with just a slight hint of hop. The taste was light with the corn overpowering the hops 10-1 and the malt 5-1, a distinct sharp alcohol finish. Not unpleasant but certainly there are better beers.
This is marketed as a cost reduced beer in a Canadian market where you pay $38 for a 24 flat of premuim mega beer. OW costs $30. Certainly a good enough beer and value for thirsty beer drinking Canucks.
Sleemans did this beer the best it has probably ever been done just as they did Blue Ribbon. This offering was a testament to Sleeman's QC and not neccesarily the original OM recipe

Poured into a shaker pint glass.
A clear golden colored body with a lot of rising bubbles. A white fizzy head disappears quickly. No lacing.
The aroma is slightly metallic, with notes of corn and cereal grains.
Thankfully, the taste is slightly better than the aroma. Slightly metallic, maybe a hint of corn adjuncts. Not much else.
Mouthfeel is watery and carbonated.
Overall, I rated this in comparison with other adjunct lagers, and quite frankly this beer tastes as clean and refreshing as all the others at a cheaper price. This will be my cheap go-to beer when needed.
