Appearance: Medium golden body, with an off white, coarse head which fades rapidly., despite blizzards of carbonation. The lacing is thin and scattered.

Aroma: Lots of cooked cereal and cooked vegetables, a slight mineral note and faint hops.

Taste: Very restrained malt notes and faint hops vie with mineral water notes. As the taste progresses, the impression of mineral water is strengthened. Finishes clean with a faint herbal hop flavor.

Mouth feel: Thin and seltzer-like.

Drinkability/notes: Not as bad as one might think. It would surely be refreshing on a hot summer day. Old Milwaukee Light is a quintessential "lawnmower" beer. Its surely not craft beer, but no one ever said it was. For what it is, its not bad.

Presentation: Packaged in a sixteen fluid ounce aluminum can, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

Presentation: 12 oz can, no freshness date. I love the boasting on the can; 1999 GABF Gold medal winner … America’s Best Tasting Light Beer.

Appearance: Translucent very pale yellow, perfect clarity with a minimal yet sticky lace on top.

Smell: Very clean nose with hints of grain and a smidgen of hops.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Super smooth with a spot on crispness, watery malt and cereal grain flavour. Very little hops at all, just a small amount of bitterness and not flavour. Very clean on the palate with little to no off flavours … I could not detect any. Clean and dry.

Notes: This is what a light beer is supposed to be, If I was a light beer drinker this is the one I would go for time and time again.

This is a light version of a very cheap beer, so I wasn't expecting much. Pours with almost no head when ice cold. Taste is very weak and watered down. What taste you get is slight malted grain and only a very shadow of hops. A very poor example of a light beer.

Time to review a gold medal winner! Ok, obviously the beer doesn't look like it should win anything. Straw yellow, I mean, really super light, but it did produce a nice head and have adequate carbonation. Aroma was nothingness and watery beer.

Taste, barely any, super miniscule hop presence, super miniscule malt presence, mostly corn and six row. A decent cheap alternative to keith stone, and better in my opinion. Same demographic its peddaled too. At least if you're a somewhat responsible adult, you can just call it a lawnmower beer.

"America's best tasting beer" well that's what is says on the can...World beer cup gold winner in 2008 for American style light lager...really it's a good light beer. Pours a fizzy yellow color, with white head that dwindles quickly. Flavor wise there isn't anything wrong with this beer, especially when served cold. Smell is some cooked veggies with even a hint of herbal hop notes, really vintage old school beer like this isn't bad compared to the masses it's just as good or better. Plus a 12 pack of this runs $6.49 since that is rediculously cheap, it's a bonus to this light lager. Mouthfeel is light bodied sturdy carbonation nothing exciting but it's cold and wet. Overall an affordable good beer that's good for beer geeks to try to appreciate what we have in craft beer and have an option amongst bigger brewers to justify not drinking BMC.

Very pale gold, with large head, and thin but ornate lacing, even. Surprise!

Nose is corny, adjunct, rice. Quite average.

Taste is light (no surprise) and watery. The only real flavor is a corny maltiness, and little (if any) hops presence. Maybe this one has won recent GABF awards, but it's still a typical American Adjunct lager. Average at best. Wouldn't buy again.

Tastes like regular Old Milwaukee after some ice cubes melted in it. Very clear color, absent of any hops that I could detect. I don't think they use any barley either. It is drinkable, but so is anti-freeze.

Old Milwaukee Light brewed by Pabst Brewing Company with an ABV 3.88. This brew pours out a nice light amber color with a small white head. This is a filtered brew you can see right though it. The smell is nice with some grains and malt. The taste is light, but rich. There is a lot going on in this brew. For being a light brew it has a lot of flavor and body. There is nothing overpowering in this brew. Old Milwaukee Light has a real nice balance it. The mouthfeel is nice, clean, and refreshing. Pabst Brewing Company did a nice job with this one. I would buy this brew again. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4.75 out 5.

Very thin, pale straw, a thin sheet of a soapy head, that evaporates quickly. Some light malty aroma, tough to pick up much on the nose. Thin, weak and a watery body, noted consistently through a few of these. Some delicate malts detected throughout. Nothing offensive, yet nothing to reel you in for more.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a very pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some grains. Taste is very mild, really nothing here at all, a slight bitterness at the finish. Feels light in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall this is a low quality beer.

This came from a 16 fl. oz. can with a lot number on the bottom of the can of 03099-C50616 and it was sampled on the day of this rating.

The pour is pale yellow with little to no head but considerable carbonation that bubbles all through the session. The aroma is grassy and corny but if you take a deep enough whiff you might catch a little bit of hops. The mouthfeel is about average for a light macros but it doesn't seem quite as watered down. The taste also has some vague hops but little to no alcohol sensation. Actually it is not quite as bad as some of the previous reviewers have claimed.

Old Milwaukee Light - Pabst Brewing Company. Poured from the can into a glass mug, this brew's got a 2 finger thick soapy white head, no lacing, and a pale golden body.

I smell earthy, grassy grains. A decent malt characteristic shows up right at the end. No adjunct sweetness.

Ok, now for the taste. I'm picking up light malt tastes with a general light grain thing going on. You know, for an adjunct, this is pretty damned good!

Mouthfeel is clean as water. I mean, this brew is very refreshing *takes another hearty swig*

Overall a 4 for the underdog known as Old Milwaukee Light - Pabst Brewing Company. Wish I woulda known ya sooner, you will be missed...

Appearance - Light golden/yellow. Clear and bubbly. Tall white soapy head quickly dissipates. Pretty average for style.

Smell - Faint sweet malt. Something else kind of unpleasant.

Taste - Quite light. Begins candy sweet and finishes with just a hint of hoppiness. Pretty standard for a macro light - the finished product, though, its a little off-tasting.

Mouthfeel - Light and tingly.

Drinkability - A little more character than many macro lights, but not a flavor I would return for. Gets a bump for being reeealll cheap and for referring to that queen of cities - Milwaukee.

Old Milwaukee Light has a thick, stark-white head, a clear, bubbly, straw appearance, and a surprisingly good amount of residual lacing. The aroma is faint sweetness and grain, and the flavor is the same, and it has almost no hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Old Milwaukee Light finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, dry, and ultra drinkable. Overall, for what it is, it's a very good beer.

12oz can into pint glass.

Pours a pale straw color with an almost perfectly white one finger head. No particulates, clear as crystal.

Not going to take a typical review format with this one because there's not much to it... adjuncts, a light amount of hops, and some malted barley. In a great combination though. This is my go-to light beer. It's well balanced and actually offers hints of flavor compared to its competitors. Not tinny or metallic like lots of other beers of this caliber. Enjoyable for what it is.

Brought to me during my BAd Beer Festival as one of the bad beers, I had to try it. The can states outright that it won the Best American light Beer in 1999. So this was not going to be any PBR (best beer of 1889 or something.)
Anyway, I hate can beer but when cracked, it smelled average..Nothing bad. Served extra cold it is a smooth light, light beer. It isn't as weak as Bud Lite and leaves a very clean after-taste
. I liked this but I am sure if it sits too long, it must taste a bit rank.
Not bad for a "BAd Beer"

Poured from a 12oz. can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is an extremely pale yellow color with a short white head that fades very quickly and leaves a very thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is very faint but contains light malts, some adjuncts and miniscule touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out some mild breadiness from adjuncts and a very thin malt character followed by a little bit of sweetness. The hops presence is almost nonexistent and what balance the beer has comes from the fact that there isn’t much of anything in the beer at all to conflict with anything else. The after-taste is slightly bready.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, very light body, medium-to-high carbonation, finish is clean.

D: This beer as about as bland as they come and as low of an ABV as you’ll find in a non-NA beer, but those traits also make the beer poundable, overall however there are several other inexpensive options out there that are better.

For a light brew, this is pretty fair...not good but fair.
Nice colour of medium gold with a fast acting head, disapates quickly. The body is medium as well the carbonation.
Well balanced taste with a crisp and clear nose.
However, as well balanced it seems, it quickly stops. No lingering here..no personality either.

Poured into an IPA glass because of reasons.

Look: An amorous golden body with quaint and timely rising bubbles. A perfectly white fizzy head fizzes out and disappears! No lacing, none. Perfectly mediocre.

Aroma: Metal, aluminum, titanium, steel.

Taste: Amazingly metallic! Watery.

Mouthfeel: Seltzer.

Overall: Incredibly bland, normal, perfectly average.

Pale yellow appearance with fizzy white head that quickly disappears. Smell is very light, some hops and grain, but nonetheless clean.

For the taste, I picked up some malt, grain and hops, but overall hard to pick up. Light bodied with medium-high carbonation. Aftertaste is almost nonexistent, slightly bitter.

In conclusion, this makes you realize that light beer is not about an exotic blend of tastes, but clean and refreshing taste. This beer accomplishes that, for a light beer it's not bad. Still, it's a little to watery. I can foresee this being chugged at American frat houses.

Nothing special here. Its a light beer that looks, smells, and tastes like a light beer. There are better versions out there, but I'd take this over a Bud Light any day.

Fairly refreshing, but nothing remarkable about the taste. Good for a warm day.

Usually hot day out here in Michigan. Time for a lighter beer. Might as well finish off this 30 pack I "enjoyed" while camping last weekend. Very light in color, slight head, nicely carbonated. Aroma is almost nothing, slightly grainy but rather clean. Taste is very clean, almost too clean. No off flavors, nice long smooth body but not much else. Great camping beer, not too good of a tasting beer. Not as flavorful as the Miller Lite I had before this one. Well made, just weak and unflavorful in the end.

Drank straight out of the can. FIRST REVIEW!!!

A: I've poured it before and the beer is very piss yellow with a decent short lasting head.

S: My beer smell abilities are not great but to me this smells like opening a can of sweet corn and taking a big whiff.

T: The first thing I taste is the familiar macro brew corn taste with a hint club soda. The middle of the taste has a bit of caramel and hops but it's very low key. The beer finishes with a clean trip back to the club soda and corn flavors.

M: Very clean and crisp. Perfect for humid summer nights and consumed in mass quantities.

D: This beer is one of my go-to lazy night on the couch beers. It's no craft beer and is priced as such, but it is great at giving you what you expect to get in a light, cheap macro brew. It goes down easy and leaves little to no after taste. I do prefer a nice craft beer but when the funds are low and the mouth just wants old fashioned dad-type lawnmowing beer, Old Mud will do the trick!
