This beer is horrible. It is not bitter nor sweet. It has no taste. It was the worst 6 pack I spend money on ever. I expect a beer to taste like a beer at least. Despite the rich history of the brewery, I was highly disappointed.

HOLY MOLE, PEARL HAS BEEN REINTRODUCED ( in bottles) HERE IN SOUTH /CNTRL. TEXAS AND ITS FRIGGIN DELICIOUS!@
You heard me right, it's Delicious. Nice hazy straw color, silt on the bottom ( unfiltered lager?).
Fairly pronounced bitter hop bite finish, but not a 'hoppy' beer. Fresh. Big body malt cereal grain backbone- not flavored water like you get in the can . Slight metallic taste especially the bottle cap, could be to blame. 6.79 i paid for sixers at HEB. What a good summer beer! Rate it at 4/ 3.9 for what it is- if anyone gave Pearl Lager in the can a 3, then this is a 4.25 ( unless you just want a watery beer with a flavor akin to a Blue Ribbon on a super hot fishing , grilling, or lawn mowing day .
Love it! 'Perla' is back, and they may well have used the old San Antone formulae to some extent cause it's a dang good old skool style workingmans brew for this time of year- this regional(?) offering from a brewery in Austin, Tx named " Original Pearl Company" ! I'm crushing 12 today, hah!

Back in my day,,,about '77 you buy Pearl for $1.49 a sixer. Then I found them in long-necks in the wooden case for $8.00/after the deposit. I used to love it. I have seen Pearl Light in the store but no Pearl.

Going on 20 years since I last had this one. Really was an ok beer, about half way between poor and average. Was drinkable but not necessarily worth seeking out. I do have a 5'x7' Pearl Lager flag in my home bar.

12 oz. can poured into pilsener
(July 10, 2017 best-by date)

L: yellow, twinge of gold, clear, pushes up 1 1/4-inch head of white foam, very little sticking or lacing, loads of activity in glass push up constant collar of white foam and piece of skin

S: house paint, peach, grain ... toasted grain

T: grain, slight medicinal note, slight hop bitterness with a little earthy hop flavor

F: lightweight, almost watery, filled out from the carbonation

O: a nice throwback to my youth but not a stalwart of the style; still, there's no flaws and for the price, it's a crushing candidate

12 FL. OZ. can
Served in an old school Busch Beer thumbprint goblet

This beer pours a brilliant yellow color. It is topped with less than an inch of white head that actually leaves a little lacing.

I get some grain aroma and enough hop presence so it doesn't come across as sweet smelling.

This Pabst offering has more flavor than a lot of their Rust Belt portfolio. It has a slight sweetness in the beginning, but there are enough hops to balance the flavor. It is crisp and clean.

Thin to moderate mouthfeel

I am a fan of old Rust Belt breweries and malt liquor. This was not bad at all for what it is.
