12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a Brown Palace mini-hefeweissbier glass in high altitude Castle Rock, Colorado. Reviewed live.
A: Pours a two finger head of fair cream and thickness, and average retention. Solid black colour.
Sm: Caramel, light chocolate, and maybe nuts. A mild strength aroma.
T: Simple light roast with some poorly handled caramelized malt and hints of artificial chocolate. Poorly balanced - especially in terms of structure - wherein all the flavour is contained about the midpoint. Some nutty hints trickle in thereabouts, but never redeem it. It's imbalanced overall and badly constructed.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Suits the flavours generally.
Dr: Drinkable but largely forgettable. I'd never have this again. Awful for the style.
Serving type: bottle
