A - Pours with a golden hue body that's slightly orange. Has a frothy eggshell head that sticks around and has great lacing.

S - Has a muted smell to it. Granted I'm still picking up some brett, mild mild tartness and faint fruit.

T - A little more tart funk on the nose, but it's a mess flavor wise. It's like a bit of fruit (apple/peach), a bit of bourbon barrel, hint of vanilla and belgian yeast.

M - Medium bodied and high carbonation. A bit boozy with a dry finish.

O - Nice Belgian base beer. But, the execution is all wrong. The beer is a muddled mess flavor wise with no real aspect of the beer shining through.

A: A moderately hazy, pale golden ale. The head is long lasting and made of compact light beige foam that leaves some light lacing on the glass.

S: A moderately light tartness up front blending with a light honey-like malt aroma. That's followed up by moderate bourbon notes and orange esters with a faint spice. No noticeable hops.

T: There are the classic Belgian Golden qualities f spice and light colored fruit with a soft malt body layered with a moderately light barrel character that shows some light Bourbon flavors. There is a light barnyard funk but it doesn't stand out amongst the other flavors going on. In addition to the yeast spice there seems to be moderate hops flavors of spicy and earthy hops. The balance is about even with a medium hops bitterness and medium malt sweetness that also brings some Pils malt character to the mix.

M: A light bodied beer with a strong level of carbonation. There

O: I'd describe it as a Bourbon barrel aged Belgian Golden with a light Brett character which first the name as in it has a wild streak and hasn't gone completely feral. It a nicely craft ale with good character and love to see how the the Brett develops over after a few years. It doesn't blow me away but it is still pretty good, however there are other sours I'd seek out for the price.

Poured from a 750 ml corked bottle into a Duvel tulip glass. Label says Blend #3.

Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About two fingers of white head which fade into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A yeasty, fruity, and fairly tart sour aroma with big hints of bourbon and fruit. Belgian yeast with good hints of funk, peppers, and clove. Big scent of the wild Brett yeast with some tart cherry hints. Strong barrel presence with some hints of bourbon whiskey, oak, vanilla, and wood. Champagne like fruit hints of white grape, pear, and apple along with a little lemon, orange, and banana. Sweet scent of candied sugar and slight honey. Malt hints of grains, straw, and cracker. Hops are very light. A very interesting and good aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a yeasty, fruity, funky, and whiskey tinged taste with good notes of bourbon and fruit. Belgian yeast with some funk, clove, and peppers. Wild Brett yeast with a good taste of sour and tart cherries. Good barrel presence with notes of bourbon whiskey, oak, vanilla, and wood. Lots of fruit notes with champagne white grape, apple, and pear. Also some fruit notes of banana, lemon, and orange. Sweet taste of candied sugar with some honey like notes. Soft malt notes of straw, grains, and cracker. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Juicy, tart, and fairly drying. Alcohol presence is hidden very well.

Overall: A pretty good and interesting twist on a Wild Ale. Good funky Brett yeast presence with some nice bourbon and fruit taste.

Pours a cloudy golden ale color with a big billowy white head that settles into a fluffy cap. Very Belgian looking.

The aroma is mild. Some fruity notes from the yeast and some tart notes from the brett. A cross between tart apples, lemon, and juicy fruit.

Tart apple and pear come through in the flavor. The malt is fairly dry, lot of pils malt. Not very brett like. Not much of the oak shines through. Would not guess that this was barrel aged. Belgian inspired but weak-ish. More of a Belgian pale ale than a wild ale. Needs more funk.

Light and lively on the palate. Tingly carbonation burns the tongue. Refreshing and easily drinkable.

Disappointing for what it is should be, good beer otherwise. No real tart flavors so it misses the mark. Good Belgian pale ale though.

A nice pour. Henry hazed wit a clean white head. Streaks and spots are generous on the sides of the glass.

A light covering sits on a golden fluid. Nose is light with pilsner malt laying down a feather bed of faint bready sweetness upon which notes of coconut, oak, vanilla, and sift bourbon.

Taste is sophisticated and complex. Harkening back to the nose, malt front is signature Belgian ale. Bourbon barrel contributes toasty caramel, coconut, oak, vanilla and wild sour cherries that are no doubt created by the synergy of Brett and barrel. Light funk as well. Finish is very dry and tightly bitter with an astringency that is surprising and refreshing. A tight, light sourness lingers with a hint of melon.

Feel is surprisingly light with a crisp carbonation the sometimes blossoms into full and creamy.

A superb spin on a BSPA. This is a great summer funk and barrel beer. Yum.

750 ml bottle, back label stamped Blend #2. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy dark gold color with about an inch and a half creamy off-white head that sticked around for a long time. There's a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is fruity and sweet, but also a bit light. It smells like bourbon, vanilla, apples, tropical fruit, and some apricots. I think the taste is similar to the aroma (except that it's stronger), with there being some honey and a sweet spiciness noticeable. There's also a nice lingering bourbon/vanilla finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, and it has high but soft carbonation. I liked this brew, it'll be interesting to see how this one ages. $18.99 a bottle.
