A: Deep, dark brown in color with hints of red. Light brownish, tan head rises to two fingers of foam. A little watery lacing barely clings to the side of the glass.

S: Toffee, coffee and roasted malt flavors waft into the nose. A classic brown ale smell.

T: Smooth, toast, roasted taste. Sweet caramel flavor melts in the middle of the tongue.

M: Low carbonation as expected. Body is medium, almost a little watery, but not horribly.

D: A great cool weather beer. Some warming qualities and thick enough to keep you toasty. Mild enough in strength to enjoy several in a sitting.

Served: in an shaker pint glass.

Poured a hazy brown with a medium thick light tan head. Light toasted malt aroma. Flavor was slightly nutty with a little bit of sweetness and just a little hint of tartness. Thinner in the body. Overall, not as rich and robust an offering in the brown ale category as others.

Smells like milk chocolate with herbs. And a bit of caramel malt.
You can feel all these in the taste too but the thing that is evidenced here actually is the hop.
The color is of a dark brown and the foam is not at all persistent.
I hope this beer could be less light too, it is too much light!

Had this at a friends house before enjoying some burgers on the grill. Not usually a big brown ale fan, but Brooklyn puts out some quality stuff. I love the freshness date on the bottle; thanks Brooklyn!

A: deep brown with a cream-colored, billowy head.

S: lots of sweetness from roasted malt. A dash of buttery caramel, too.

T: Like a Brown Ale should (i.e. sweetness followed closely by a touch of bitterness from the hops. I would've put a scoop of good vanilla ice cream into my glass if I had been thinking of it.

O:This is a quality Brown Ale that I would recommend to others looking for a good representative of the style.
