Best by date of May 2015

Appearance - Pours a chestnut brown with a khaki colored finger width head. Good retention, eventually dying to a thin layer of surface suds and spotty lacing around the glass.

Smell - Earthy with light nutty notes and a strong floral hoppiness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Light nuttiness with a slightly sour bite. Floral hop character. Finish has a vague, empty chocolate flavor to go with everything else. Odd flavors that don't necessarily mesh.

Mouthfeel - Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Thin, empty finish.

Overall - Eh, one of the more disappointing craft browns I've had. What's with the sourness? Best by date was still well within range, so it's somewhat baffling.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a point glass.
Aroma- Has a nice nut aroma with a well balanced malt mix.
Appearance- This a very dark brown colored beer with a small off-white head.
Taste- A big nut bomb flavor with a great malt blend. Has a great flavor that grew on me after each sip.
Palate- A medium bodied beer with mild carbonation.
Overall- This is a good beer, starting to build a lot of respect for Brooklyn Brewery.

Kind of a dark maroon color with a big frothy off white head. Has a dark malty smell with trace amount of hops. Taste has hints of chocolate and roastiness with a tad bit of sweetness. Overall pretty good beer

Look: Pours a very deep, dark amber color.Tan colored head

Smell: The smell isn't very strong. But what I can pick up is a nutty, chocolate aroma.

Taste: Very nutty in flavor, with a very caramel and chocolate flavors coming in the end.

Feel: Pretty smooth, with a medium body.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Dark brown with a one-finger head that quickly settles
S: Malty, nutty, dry
T: Matches the nose. A large dose of malt and nuts, dry without much additional complexity
M: Light to medium-bodied, dry, somewhat simple
O: This needs a bit of sweetness or a bit of hop complexity to step it up a notch. Perfectly drinkable if simple now, but it seems like it's a good base upon which so much could be added
