12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: It's a clear brownish red with a short eggshell head that receives quickly. Carbonation is moderate, lacing nonexistent.

Aroma: Caramel, toffee, malt, some hops.

Taste: The taste follows the nose, with some added earthiness.

Mouthfeel: It's oddly thin for the style. Could use a little more body.

Overall: Pretty average brown ale. On a cold evening I'd rather have their winter ale.

Poured into a pint glass.

A- Pours a dark brown with reddish hues coming through the bottom. Roughly a one finger off-white head forms and dissipates quite quickly. Leaves just a little lacing and carbonation bubbles are visible. So far so good. (3.4)

S- Toffee and caramel are most evident from the start. Some roasted malt also comes through and also what to me smells like a subtle earthy hop characteristic. Doesn't knock your socks off but is deceptively complex. (3.7)

T- Not quite as much complexity as is present in the smell. While I didn't get any nuttiness in the head there is a nice buttery nuttiness here. There is very little caramel character but the toffee comes through in the finish along with the nuttiness. Nice hop bitterness rounds it out. Perhaps a bit underwhelming but nice nonetheless. (3.35)

M- On the thin side for my taste. I like the level of carbonation but I wish it didn't disappear so quickly. (3.25)

O- A perfectly fine American Brown. I wish it was a bit bolder in aroma and flavor, but quite sessionable and easy to drink. Decent but nothing to write home about. (3.43)

Like the beer a lot. Dark brown color when poured. Very smooth and clean while drinking it. Not heavy by any means.

Clear, light brown color. Medium off-white head. Aroma of malt , caramel and grain. Bready and caramel taste , with pleasant hoppy and dry finish
