Having just come off of the high of having the amazing Brooklyn-Schneider Hopfen-Weiss, I thought it appropriate to review one of their beers that I don't like so much. It looks promising enough in the glass. A nice orange-amber hue with decent head. Things go a little sour with the nose, though. Smells a touch sour, literally, and relatively one-noted with a light citrus dominating. The flavor is no saving grace either, as it disappointingly has that, in my opinion, Brooklyn house yeast flavor. There is some tropical fruit in there, mostly a bitter orange quality, some resins showing up as well, a touch of honey and a hop bitterness that rides the sides of the tongue. The finish fades fast and once again a sour character makes a ghostly appearance. This sourness I have refered to is not so dominant as to be an infection, which is good because I have noticed it in a number of the Brooklyn beers. It is just a 'house' flavor that my palate doesn't love. It is still a decent beer though and I am certainly going to drink the rest of its 12oz. friends. This just isn't one of my favorite IPAs. To each there own.

Nice english IPA of a hazy orange/ocher color that goes to a yellowish tone in the corners of the glass. Foam is ok.
Smell and taste are full of citrus, specially lemon, orange and grapefruit. Pear and apple tones also appear and that makes this beer quite juicy. Maltiness, bitterness and hoppines are at an ok level but could be higher, specially maltiness.
Body is ok too. Didn't enjoy the mouthfeel too much because of the acidity that comes in corners of the lips.
