Poured from a 12-ounce long neck into a Duvel tulip glass.
A: Pours nice ruby-brown color with a fluffy off-white head. The head doesn't stick around long, but leaves a nice lace behind it. Average looking carbonation.
S: Smells like a malt should, but there are distinct hop notes here which is a surprise. This thing smells like an IPA, or APA at least, maybe even like a DFH 60 Minute.
T: A nice refreshing lager with a little hop bite and a pretty nice malt balance. The style claims to be an all-malt lager, but I think there's a bit more going on here; definitely doesn't leave an all-malt taste in my mouth.
M: Enters crisp, but foams up when its rolled around a bit. Nice for the style, and not really one to chug.
D: It's flavor and medium-bodied nature would make this a nice session beer. Maybe there's not enough to keep you coming back to it time and time again, but for people who aren't looking to wow themselves, but maybe get a rise out of their BMC friends, Brooklyn Lager is a nice surprise.
I'd recommend this beer to people who don't know what to get a bar and "want to try something different." If they say they don't like dark beer, just get this for them and I'm sure they'd be happy. I know I would.
