Poured from 12 oz brown bottle with a Dec 2011 date into a Pilsener glass. The label says this is a Pre-Prohibition style lager.
Appearance: Reddish-Gold/ Amber with very active carbonation. 1 finger off white head. The glass when empty was left with a spider web of lacing that brought up it's appearance score.
Aroma: Bready malts with restrained hops, hop profile is citrus and floral.
Mouthfeel: Full from active carbonation.
Taste: Strong maltiness which quickly changes to a decent but not overpowering hoppiness. Hops are complex. No one flavor predominates but I get citrus, floral and a slight herbal bitterness at the end. Long Finish with all flavors lingering on the palate.
Notes: A nice, solid beer, very sessionable. Really quite lovely. This is the kind of lager that all American Brewers should make. Is it more expensive to make it this well?
