I just had this with lunch, on tap, pint glass.
I took notes on a cocktail napkin.

A-Orange/amber color. Not cloudy but not clean, hazy. One finger head with decent retention and lacing.

S-slightly sweet grainy malt smell with some notes of citrus.

T-the grainy malts are upfront. A dry finish with a slight hop bitterness and lingering citrus flavor.

M-light to medium body with little carbonation.

O-a good lager. I've had this brew many times before, not my favorite as I trend toward a hoppier taste.

Hazed, amber blonde with a big fluffy head of cream colored foam that sticks to the glass. Caramel malt and grassy grain with a touch of lemony hops. Grainy and toasty with nice flavors of caramel, mint and citric hops. Medium light bodied with mild carbonation. A good lager much like Sam Adams BL.

A 355ml bottle with a BB of June 2012.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A hazy orange-amber hue with visible sediment and low carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing. Aroma of sweet amber malt with a pleasant whiff of aromatic hops. Notes of caramel, grain and citrus.

Tastes of sweet malt with a crisp, hoppy bitterness. Notes of caramel, citrus and yeast. The faintest hint of diacetyl in the background, but this doesn't detract from the flavour. Mouthfeel is light but full-bodied for a lager. Seems a little undercarbonated. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops and malt.

Very nice - would make a great session lager. Slightly sweet malt with a nice aromatic hop character. Very similar to Sam Adam's Boston lager. Good stuff.

Full disclosure... I am right on the edge of the best before date of January 12.

Pours an amber body and a pretty big off-white head that leaves behind good amount of lacing. This is not your normal looking lager. OK, I'm intrigued.

The nose has sweet malt and earthiness with a good amount of citric fruit lingering... I think it's lemons. Smells more like a Belgian than a lager. OK, now I'm really intrigued.

has a malt presence and a bit of earthy hops. Just as on the nose, the dominate note is citrus and bitter from the hops. Nothing like most lagers I've tried. bitterness hangs around a while.

Body is light to medium. Good carbonation as well.

I'm going to try this again fresh to see if there is much of a difference. My hunch is that the uniquenss of this lager comes from the fact that it's been in the bottle a while. Stand by for an update.
