Served in a snifter at Firkin.
I remember trying a sample of this down at McGee's almost a year ago and not being all that impressed, but I figured I'd give it a full shot while I'm here at Firkin. It pours a clear brass topped by a finger of lightly off-cream-white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit zest, orange zest, light lemon peel, and a backbone of light toffee. Everything is bright and happy and expressive. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a few flowers tossed in for good measure. Now everything comes through a touch rindier than before, but not by very much. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a tasty little DIPA, one that doesn't overdo the hops, creating a generally pleasant drinking experience.

A: Orange/Copper, 1" head that quickly settles and leaves some decent lace. Looks inviting!
S: Wow! Much more here than I expected. Grapefruit, sweet oranges, pineapple, white grapes. Big alcohol at first whiff but that disappears shortly after. Its got some warmth though.
T The citrus and sweet tropical fruit is there but its more subdued than in the smell. The caramel comes in as well as some of the earthy/spicy notes. Its very good.
M: Light to medium body. Light carbonation. Medium oil/resin.

Poured a golden body, somewhat clear and orangish, along with two finger head and minor lace patches and a aroma that is very hoppy, citric and possible grape but mostly earthy and somewhat fresh smelling. Smooth, light to medium bodied, the hops aren't overkill in this beer but are just very hoppy and have enough caramel/bread malt to offer balance and a touch of sweetness and overall just a good sipping "DIPA".
