Stopped by Superstar Huntington and there was a Brooklyn tasting happening. Sampled a few and was pretty blown away by Blast so I had no choice but to pick up a growler.
a - through the growler a nice deep transparent orange hue. Popped it open and filled my Captain Lawrence taster tulip. Color settled a bit darker and there was visible even carbonation and a nice thin IPA head. Left some slick lacing on the glass.
s - very nicely balanced hop smell. Good malt presence, hint of sweetness...not very sticky and pine cone like, but very nice.
t - good medley of hops and bitterness...some pepper as well. quite tasty and the standout from the tasting that I just had to bring a sample of it home to enjoy. nice sweetness to even things out.
m - a bit watery/light in the body, bitter aftertaste, but not too much so. ABV is extremely well hidden for a double. lively carbonation.
o - really great IIPA. extremely enjoyable, very easy to drink, not a hop bomb. this one should be bottled.

Not gonna waste much time on this one:
A: Clear, golden
S: Not what I've come to expect from modern-day DIPAs. Tons of bready, biscuity malt notes fighting to suppress the mild, citrusy hop bouquet.
T: Very sweet/malty for a DIPA. It has a definite English malt characteristic with some citrusy, piney hops sprinkled into the finish.
M: Slick and medium-bodied. I would love the mouthfeel for the style if the carbonation was a lot higher to help accentuate the hops...very little carbonation in this one.
O: More hops, please!

No bottling date info anywhere that I can see, but this is likely a recent product, bought in a mixed six just last Wednesday at a store that I'm pretty certain did not have it the last time I was there in January.
Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into an Innis & Gunn flute.
a: Clear amber with a figer thick white head which receded slowly to thin surface foam and dense lacing.
s: Moderate resin
t: Indeterminate fruit up front followed by moderate hop bite. Oil in the aftertaste early on and slight vinegar towards the end. Does not have much lasting hop oomph.
m: Medium. Considerable carbonation tingle somewhat makes up for the lack of hop bite.
o: Not a bad brew, but the hops fall short on blast, and the taste, which is mild but almost approaches Belgian yeast fruitiness, is curious. Based on this sample bottle I would not be looking for more unless it was cheap.
