Pours orange, hazy, single finger white head. Smell is hoppy, English style malt, pine, lemon, strawberry, peach. Taste starts with some subtle berry flavors, piney, sweet hops, English malt again, very well balanced though. Mouthfeel is not too thick, or thin, just right. Overall a nice balance between west coast ipa and English style ipa, I'd say that's the easiest way to describe it. Very easy to drink, bold flavors that aren't overpowering. Pretty unique but very delicious and worth trying for sure.

12 oz bottle poured into a nonic

Pours a pale copper color with a finger of foam that fades quickly. Aroma is fantastic, full of pine and spruce and grapefruit and a hint of papaya.

First sip is a rush of tropical hop flavors with suprisingly little bitterness. I pick up a lot of papaya and pineapple. This is full of hop flavor and I'm totally digging it. There is no harsh bitter finish, and the malt sweetness fades to the background and complements rather than overwhelms the hop centric nature of this beer.

I'm very pleased with this beer. I'd certainly like to pick up another 4 pack the next time it is released, to see how it compares. Regardless, I would order this if I see it on tap somewhere.

Was able to snag a single of this at Vintage Estate. Always love a new (affordable) Brooklyn offering!

A - Has a very solid deep amber brown color with a 1/2 inch of white head that sticks around for quite a bit. Lacing is stellar.
S - Best part of a DIPA I can smell the hops from my desk! Juicy sharp pineapple hops and citrus hops blast. Very solid with a bready malty backround.
T - I look for two things in my DIPA's and yes this one meets my first perfectly the ABV is super well hidden with no evident ethanol to the taste. The hops have a great taste mostly sweet rather than bitter and not very sharp. A very easy going and drinkable experience.
M - It's smooth never really going over medium bodied. Flavor is constant and enjoyable.

Overall a very solid DIPA that I would totally have again. Balanced hop/malt flavor and massive ABV.

Nice!

best before june 2014. Poured into tall pilsner glass. Foamy head that settles down to a quarter inch of white film. Smell of pine and citrus. The taste is mostly citrus although on the mild side. Some evidence of bready malts. Carbonation is medium and bitterness is low. This beer is easy drinking and it hard to believe that its 8.4% abv Very nice brew I'm impressed.

12 ounce bottle, best before June 2014. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a clear golden/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells mostly like citrusy (tropical fruit, grapefruit) and floral/earthy hops, along with some bready malt. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some lemon peel, candided oranges, and some peppery spice. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and creamy, and is well carbonated. I thought this was a good brew, nice mix of using both American and English hops. I'd buy this again, definitely worth trying. $2.59 for a single at World Market.

12oz bottle, BB date of June 2014, poured into SA glass.

Vigorous pour yields one finger, white head which quickly dissipates to a thin rim. Moderate lacing coats the glass.

Subtle pine, earth, spice, malt.

Bitter hops smoothed by the scottish malts: spice predominates, leaving a slight malty bitterness.

Medium body, well carbonated.

Forgettable.

I've been waiting for this one. The pour was brilliant, crystal clear in the glass with an appropriate but not long lasting head.
The nose was typical of an IPA, but it was not overwhelming. There was also a nice floral nose to this that had to come from hops other than our normal American West Coast and East Coast Cascade and Centennial.
The bitterness was present with the first taste with a very crisp and satisfying total mouthful.
This is not an over hoppy beer, nor a simple beer. Very enjoyable, one that someone starting out with craft beers should enjoy.
