A beautiful clean golden color pour with a finger of head which dissipated slowly and caused some great lacing.%0AThe aroma is a wonderful bouquet of hops.. Floral%2C piney goodness with a touch of bready caramel.%0AThe flavor is as wonderful as the aroma. A very nice complex grain bill - nutty%2C bready%2C caramel. The hops are deliciously placed - floral%2C grapefruit citrus%2C tropical mango. Just excellent.%0AA medium body beer with moderate carbonation. Very easy to drink for the abv.%0AThis is by far one of the best Brooklyn beers%2C and one of my favorite dipa's. Couldn't be happier they're finally bottling this.

A nice copper hue with brilliant clarity and a white head. A really nice beer. Very grassy and resinous nose, smells like tropical fruit meets lemon grass with a touch of pine sap. Very flowery nose as well. Some sweet malt notes come through on the nose as well. Solid malt body with some sticky sweetness, bright yet earthy hop flavors, a nice marriage of old world and new world hops. A bit soapy but in a fragrant good way. Slightly sweet and very delicately balanced. Hop flavor is there but bitterness is super minimal. Some of the flavors compete but overall pretty subtle and well balanced.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Best by May 2014.

A: Pours a cloudy golden brown with an ample white head on top. Nice lacing as the head slowly dissipates. Just a bit of visible carbonation.

S: Nice fruity hop right off the bat, letting you know this is going to be an IPA. Bit of a piney aroma along with a light toasted malt.

T: Complementing hop and malt flavors here. Neither one overpowers which is an accomplishment considering the amount of hop bitterness. Could have a bit more fresh hop flavor.

M: Smooth and creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation. Doesn't leave your mouth as dry as most IPA's. Alcohol is fairly well hidden.

Overall its certainly not a bad double IPA but is up against some stiff competition. Well rounded flavor and a great mouthfeel are where this brew shine.

Appearance - Love the color on this one. It is a clear orange color with a thin, off-white head. Carbonation can be seen coming up from the bottom of the glass.

Aroma and Taste - Earthy, tropical fruits, grapefruit, along with some caramel sweetness from the malts.

Mouthfeel - Medium body with slight carbonation on the tongue. There is a bitterness and stickiness to the beer but it is not overpowering or long lasting.

Overall - Wasn't quite sure how I felt about this brew. It wasn't bad, but not great. Just an above average IPA.

A-a clear dark golden color with two fingers worth of white head

S-piney and citrus hops dominate the smell with light pale malt and even a bit of fruity sweetness

T-taste is how I would have expected based on the smell. Bitter pine and citrus hops with a pale malt backbone and some caramel sweetness

M-medium body, medium carbonation

Overall a very enjoyable beer, hop heavy but with a nice balance of malt sweetness

This looks like it could be interesting, blend of Pacific American hops and U.K. hops. There is a code on the bottle but no legible date, but picked it up a couple weeks ago when I first noticed it.

Pours a creamy but fizzy 1 finger head that fades at a med pace, or attempts to as many bubbles stream up to reinforce it, and leaves a mild spotty lacing, a crystal clear tan apple juice brown colored beer.

Nose is quite fruity, but not like I expected, some apple and pear juice at first, with apricot and generic stone fruit, before a mild citrus component comes through, more like a candied orange peel citrus though, and a big sweet coppery malt base with little caramel and candy and a hint of booze in there somewhere. Also a mild earthy spicy hop hides in the background, juicy hop character though.

Taste starts off with hops, but that herbal earthy kind, big time black tea leaves and grassy earthy hop flavors, moss, forest, touch of pine tree, tobacco, leather, chewy hops with fair bitterness. Then comes a sweet malt, copper malts and a little toasty with some sweetness and a little caramel like malt but not really caramel, hint candy like, little toasty caramel biscuit thing. In the background are hints at fruits, apple pear like as well, with just a touch of citrus in the background, candied orange peel like citrus again. Again a hint of booze warming the palate and bringing a hint of ester profile. Finish is still a bit sticky sweet, bringing some bitterness with more of the grassy tea herbal hop profile, little candied orange peel, and mild candy malts.

Mouth is med bod, nice fluffy carb, hint of warming booze.

Overall not a big fan, the American hops didn't come through much, and the U.K. ones brought some interesting flavors but they didn't seem to do it for me, a nice balance, and well executed aside from lack of American hops, but just not quite my style.

A pleasant surprise to see this in bottles. Have had it on tap one or two times over the years and enjoyed it then.

A- Poured into a chalice from the 12oz bottle with a clear golden-orange body. Small white head forms with a frothy texture and decent retention eventually falling to a ring and some islands atop the brew. Lacing is pretty hard to come by with only a few small spots.

S- Fresh hop blast off the top with an emphasis on tropical fruits like mango and tangerine. Citrus and floral notes help make it a rounded hop profile with just a hint of malts on the back end.

T- Hops lead the taste with a similar feel to the nose with perhaps just a bit of pine, orange zest and some more floral coming out beneath the mango, tangerine and peachy stone fruits. Malts are light with hints of cracked wheat, cereal grains and biscuits providing just enough flavor to balance the hops (more like support them).

MF- Just below moderately thick body with a silky smooth and slightly creamy texture overall. Carbonation at a medium level with a nice bit to help deliver the hop flavors and a clean bitterness.

The fresh stone fruit hop flavor in here is clean and juicy and this is yet another example of a good IPA. I gotta give them some credit as it is 8.4% and as clean, if not cleaner than many sub 7% IPAs.
