Appearance: Deep gold/amber. Foamy off-white head with LOTS of effervescence. Lacing down the sides of glass with a thin white cap of retention.

Aroma: Very fruity with a slight hop aroma. Very nice.

Taste: Tart & spicy, salty, clean. Reminds me of Columbus Brewing Company's Summer Teeth Kellerbier; but filtered, with lots of bubbles, and not as slick. Hints of apple and pear.

Mouthfeel: Mid-to-light weight, very astringent and clean.

Overall: Light, fruity, astringent. Well-carbonated (but not overly so). A well-balanced craft summer ale. Would buy again.

Brooklyn Summer is one of the beers I like the most from this brewery.
It is light, without being vacant of flavor! It has a citrus-ee note but not like Sam Adams.
It is smoother and more refined than Sam's Summer Ale - especially on the finish!
The mouth-feel is alive and bright - like a lager.
This pairs well with grilled veggies and lighter fare - chicken/fish. Not that I would throw it away if having it with a burger or steak :o)
So far..this is one of my favorite beer surprises this summer season!

look: 3.25 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.5

Serving Type: 355 mL bottle poured into a Brooklyn Brewery tulip glass.

Appearance: Fizzy head dissipating to a light haze with minimal lacing. Clear, pale golden color.

Smell: Full cereal malt aroma with slight citrus and resin of hops.

Taste: Malty bread flavor with gentle underlying citrus rind from hops and a slight (and pleasant) tendency towards saltiness. Semidry finish.

Mouthfeel: Clean, slightly creamy. Lightly carbonated.

Overall: Light and refreshing, but complex enough to be a more enjoyable summer seasonal, especially with its slightly savory, salty flavors.

Brooklyn Summer Ale brewed by Brooklyn Brewery with an ABV of 5.0 % This brew pours out a nice amber color with a nice white head. The smell is rich grains and sweetness. There is nothing overpowering in the smell. The taste is nothing to write home about. It is clean and refreshing. Brooklyn Summer Ale is also smooth. There is nothing overpowering in this brew. The mouthfeel is nice and clean. No bad after taste just smoothness. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4.25 out of 5. I would get this brew again.
