Poured into Chimay chalice, from corked bottle.
A: Golden straw color, slightly hazy. Big pillow of fluffy white head, thick webbing of lacing all around.
S: The aroma has a very German scent; bananas and spice (clove/coriander) with a yeasty funk to it. Grassy and citrus hops also play a role here. Although the nose is loaded with complex aromas, the variety of fruit is what stands out the most here: banana, orange, lemon, apple, and pineapple.
T: Very smooth and subtle on the palate. Banana and spice up front with the rest of the fruit bouquet following closely behind. Moderate alcohol sweetness (thanks to that raw cane sugar) is present with a little warmth, but only adds to how delicious this beer is. Definite yeast funk too (a welcome addition). There is just enough European hop character in here to keep everything perfectly balanced, not too bitter, malty, or sweet.
M: Champagne-like foamy carbonation, medium body. Easy to drink considering the 9% abv.
O: AWESOME beer. I wasn't expecting this to be that good. It was just perfectly balanced for being a belgian strong pale ale.

A: Foggy golden with tons of fine carbonation, 3 fingers of light yellow tinged white head. Good retention.
S: Sweet and caramel like, light fruity and floral qualities. Daisies, and cantelope.
T: Belgian yeast, light lemon tartness, la fair amount of sweetness, sight bitterness on the finish. Really hides the alcohol, and is much like a white wine in dryness. Sharp cheddar like quality.
M: A lot of fine bubbled carbonation, a little thickness to the body, but it comes across as light, airy and dry. Really well done.
O: An excellent brew. Great mouth feel, very mellow in taste, definitely a Belgian style beer. Bought in Boca Raton, drank on Deerfield Beach, July 15, 2014.
