2011 Vintage, 10.7% abv, # 2981. 750 ml C+C bottle poured into a DFH signature glass.

A - Pitch black body, Massive mocha head forms with large bubbles dies down to a one finger cap. Excellent lacing and retention.

S - Decadent dark and milk chocolate. Lots of vanilla and oak on the finish. A really amazing aroma that I can smell just from sitting near the glass. Not picking up on any roasty or coffee notes. Its predominantly bourbon notes and an amazing chocolate aroma.

T - Starts off with vanilla and oak, then it fades into rich and sweet milk chocolate, and then finishes with some bitter roasty malts and coffee beans with a touch of warming alcohol. Not too complex but very delicious.

M - Spritzy and lively with a creamy medium mouth feel.

O - This is an amazing beer. Hearing mixed reviews and a high price tag has kept me away from this beer in the past. Finally decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Amazing chocolate base beer that was perfectly bourbon barrel aged. Add in the uniqueness of the champagne yeast and this makes for a stellar stout.

Brooklyn Black Ops 2012.
A Black in color, nice thick brown fluffy head. Brown sticky lace.
S chocolate, coffee, port, bourbon.
T chocolate, coffee, port, bourbon, very sweet, coconut.
M silky smooth, porty chocolate aftertaste.
O I guess I shouldn't really discuss this, due to the hush hush nature of this non-existent brew, but if it did exist I'd say it was quite a nice bourbony heavy brew that kept giving me some real port feels throughout the bottle. It was a good drink.
