I really like Brooklyn's Local #1 and when I saw this at the store I picked this up immediately.
When I poured it out I knew this wouldn't be like the #1 at all. I poured this into my new Great Divide glass and got a very nice large tan and frothy head. It's a dark brown-reddish beer and it smells nutty, a bit sweet, and maybe...some cinnamon(?). I pick up a hint of citrus too.
It tastes much like a Belgian quadrupel but there is a definite alcohol taste to it. There is a nice roasty, smooth, and nutty ending that is missing from most other Belgians. This is a good Belgian ale and one that's good for a cool night.
