A - Murky brown amber color. Will pour a massive head if you're not careful. Great lacing.
S- Grape, yeast, malt (like the powder), funk, and some bready notes. I keep thinking I smell raw honey. Changes pretty steadily as it warms.
T- Grape and what tastes like earthy hops up front. Notes of chocolate, toast, raisin, alcohol, pepper, and light orange comes next. Slightly bitter, bready finish. Each sip is a little different. Profile loses sweetness and becomes more bitter as it warms. Honey-like flavors come out as it warms as well. No one flavor dominates another.
M- Medium thick body with light, prickly carbonation. Not overly drying.
O- I really enjoyed this beer. I've found this style to be really hit or miss for me, and this one definitely hit. I'm walking away with the impression that someone put a lot of thought and work into the crafting this beer. Wonderful balance between a multitude of flavors. Cheers to the brewer.
