Poured into a sam adams custom glass, color is gold, lots of fine carbonation; head is off whtie, lumpy, dense, some lacing; head lingers exceptionally well, making it very enticing.
Smell is subdued, some light pilsen malt, touch of yeast phenols.
Taste steps it up: malt is clean, not sweet, but flavorful, some pilsen notes, light biscuit and bread; yeast flavors are very nice some light phenol, buttery off flavor but could be from hops; hops very lemony, some lighter earthier notes as well, grass.
Mouthfeel is where this saison is a nice step apart, very nicely dry and some light sweetness with a very good carbonation.
Overall, a very, very good saison, with a good twist on the hop presence and malt flavor profile.

Review for Batch 1 (from notes)
Had this on tap and it was the first batch. Poured hazy goldenrod with short lived white head. Aroma is awful. Weird lemongrass and lemon bitters type of aroma. Earthy, grassy, and more grass with an overcompensation of lemongrass. Spritzy carbonation. Refreshing if you can palate it.
