Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a Brooklyn Brewery tulip glass. It pours a beautiful slightly hazy straw color with a thick bright white head that settles into a thin cap.

The smell is lemon citrus with a hint of grass. These is a slight pleasant funk. The taste reminds me of being in a field on a summer morning. There is a light sweetness at the start with a blast of lemon from the hops and some fruitiness. The finish is clean, dry and refreshing. There's a hint of a pepper with pleasant alcohol warmth. This is an excellent beer.

Had this on tap at the Brooklyn Brewery last fall. It poured just like a saison should - light gold with light froth. The smell straight from the tap was a lemon explosion. Enjoyable on a hot summer day I would presume. The taste was clean with some fruits hidden, like lemon and pear. The mouthfeel was dry right from the start but the carbonation was medium.
This beer is all about the Sorachi Ace hops. It showcases them deliciously and refreshingly.

A: pale gold beer with a faint haze, but not enough to obscure the bubbles that stream up from the bottom of my tulip glass; fluffy white head showed good retention and left curtains of lace down the sides

S: pale lemon aromas and white pepper spice; makes me think of grassy wet fields in the sun

T: crisp crackers, lemongrass, flowers and herbs, wet with dew and slightly sweet with honey and spice

M: light, fuzzy and fizzy, clean finishing and refreshing

O: a very nicely done saison, simple and straightforward - nothing tricky, just good, clean craftsmanship using German two-row pilsener malt, Sorachi Ace hops, and Belgian house and champagne yeast.

A- looks pretty light with a very straw color that haze a tad bit of haze.

S- This brew has a very spicy smell. It smells a bit peppery and is nice and strong.

T- up front it is pretty mild with a slight hop presence. It is very crisp and refreshing and I taste a bit of sweetness from a fruit.

M- it is not as thin as I thought it would be. The crispness comes from the nice carbonation.

Overall it is a great summer porch drinker but more of a sipper in the sun.

This pours clear and the color of golden rays of sunshine. It has a streaming effervescence and a tall creamy white head of foam that just won't fall. Leaves a much of itself behind as lace and as a layer on top. Nose is delicate. Light malt, like a soft wind has brought the scent of grain. Light fruit sweetness and a little earth. A little funk and some lemongrass. The sweet zest of the lemon and a grassy herbal quality. There's a touch of cracker int he nose and a little pear to add some sweetness.

Taste is superb. fresh, crisp, clean. delicate, feather light malt creates a supple mouthfeel. Flows so easily. The lemon is bright and light. the pear adds crispness and a little sweetness. It's bone dry and thirst quenching. The sparkling carbonation adds to the lightness of the body and makes it drink even better. There's a little soft white pepper in the finish and the after taste is just as delicate and just as flavorful as the first taste. It's simplicity itself both on the nose and in the drink.

This beer evokes images of still life paintings, french meadows, rays of sunlight. It drinks easily and is enlivening and vivid. A terrific beer. Would pair easily with a variety of cheeses, light dishes and even with salads. Has a body and a palate that would compliment plenty of fresh and pungent herbs as this is so clean with only a very simple palate. Mild and gentle.
