$4.5 for 12oz @ lagerhaus 95

Deep, rich looking golden amber with a razor thin white head that fades quickly. There's some lacing, but absolute no haze/sediment. The nose is bursting with fruits from the Sorachi, ripe concord grapes first come to mind.
This is definitely an interesting, take on a saison. It's relatively tame and clean tasting, the yeast is secondary to the hops. The Sorachi hops are showcased very nicely. There's also a noticeable bite from the ethanol, which is complimentary initially, but gets a little bit too much when the beer begins to warm. Otherwise, the mouthfeel is smooth and bubbly with a slightly lingering, bitter aftertaste.
Excellent price and availability, I'd definitely recommend it to others.

22 oz Cork and cage, bottle conditioned Ale, purchased 9/2011 from a very reputable supplier and stored at 40-45 degrees since.

Poured into a Duvel Signature Tulip.

Pours a huge massive foamy four finger head, which reduces to a 1/2” head and eventually a thin cap. Each pour produces another explosive head. Extremely lively.
Yellow gold color, brilliant and clean, with small bubble carbonation.

Distinct aroma of yeast, very refined and elegant. You can smell the hops, a somewhat piney resiny smell but in no way of the West Coast variety. Citrusy aromas of lemon interplay with the yeast and hops. It is very intriguing and very enjoyable.

Very crisp entry on the palate of delicious yeast and citrusy/lemony hops, it’s quite dry, Belgium in style but somehow different. A bitter middle of hops. Golden malt comes on as this ale warms, with the yeast coming and going as it pleases, but the hops never let go. The crisp acidity, medium full mouth feel and champagne like carbonation make for a wonderfully balanced ale. Delicious!

Definite bitter hops in finish, with a very pleasing malt component. Lingering hop oils on palate, with some hints of lemon here and there.

Wasn’t sure what to expect with this ale, but I am impressed. Very lively, exceptionally drinkable Saison style ale. Delicious flavors of yeast/citrus/malt and of course the hops. A rather complex ale with lots of flavors and aromas, with a surprising and very welcome dryness.
Highly recommended!

750 mL bottle. Tulip.

A: Cloudy, yet bright yellow pour with three fingers of puffy white head.

S: Tropical fruits, citrus hoppiness, and a little pepper.

T: Lemon, banana gobstoppers, tropical fruits, and moderate hoppiness.

M: Medium body thickness with lots of carbonation.

O: It's very fruity and hoppy for a saison.

Appearance: What I think a saison should look like, a hazy golden color.
Smell: A very pronounced lemon scent.
Taste: I liked the first half pint of the 750 ml bottle (noteworthy: this is a 100% fermented ale). The rest was a chor as I found the "lemony fresh" smell and taste to be too much (if it was a claening product it would be spot on).
Mothfeel: Light, this would be a great summer beer, which saisons were designed for.
Overall: Average, I like the fact they did a saison and 100% bottel conditioned, but I am not a huge fan of the lemon taste.

Bought a 1 PINT, 9.4 FLOUID OZ. bottle of this from Bruisin' Ales in Asheville, NC for $12. Poured from the Corked/Caged bottle w/ an Ace of Diamonds Card as the label and Gold Lined trimming into a 16oz Guinness Pint Glass. Has no freshness date on the bottle.

Aroma- Has a high fruity aroma from the beginning with a musky background. A nice citric and floral hop aroma comes in towards the end.

Appearance- Pours a huge 5 finger head that stays forever! Has a golden body thats a bit cloudy. Leaves thick lacing behind.

Flavor- A nice combination of barnyard, citrus, and musky notes all the way through. This muskiness I keep finding isn't disappointing though. A perfect contribution to a great Saison! Has light spices and bitterness at the finish.

Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, Highest Carbonation, Goaty and musky finish. Very effervescent!

Overall Impression- Just when I think I've had some of my favorite Saisons (whether from Fantome, The Bruery, or others), another great one pops up! Such a nice brew, I'm wondering how this musky characteristic came into play? Perfect amount of citrus and sour notes. Can't say one characteristic overpowered another one. Very well balanced! Recommend if you have a chance and enjoy the Saison style.

Poured into a 9oz shaker glass.

A: Transparent, bright yellow body. Cloudy, crystal white thick head. Pouring near end of bottle turns body is a dusty haze appearance.

S: Lemon grass, orange peel zesty. Light fruits. Smells like spring time.

T: Earthy, herbal as could be. Intriguing spice wakes up pallet.

M: Light up front, turns to a heavy gummy feel weighing down pallet and then burning bubbly sensation warms the back roof of mouth.

O: Extremely unique. Belgian blonde malt taste, witbier sensation, and Saison yeast cake. Highly recommended!

Poured into a flute glass.

Beer pours almost like champagne. Very carbonated and light and fizzy. A ton of head- like 3 fingers worth.

Beer smells of bannannas and slightly grassy and earthy.

Beer tastes like the smell, but very muted.

Mouthfeel is extremely carbonated like champagne.

Not my favorite saison.

Delivered from a bomber into an Allagash tulip glass from Trappeze Pub in Athens Ga (don't tell them). Label designed by the great Milton Glaser.

A: Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a frothy head and a school of energetic bubbles migrating north towards some lazy lacing.

S: Bruised ripe bananas, bread, maple sugar, pepper, loads of earthy yeast tones. The nose is very complex.

T: Banana, green pepper, bread, raisin, citrus rind bitterness, slight milk taste in the end.

M: Crisp up front and finishing chalkhy, spicy and bone dry.

O: Easily the most complex farmhouse ale I've had so far. Fantastic beer.

A - A very carbonated beer. Mostly due to the champagne yeast. cloudy and slightly orange in color. there was a nice head to the beer.

S- Fruity with notes of citrus and some light floral hops.

T- earthy/slight hoppy taste on the back/ sweet

M - Crisp, good mouth feel.

I had this beer on New Years eve as the last beer of 2011. It was one hell of a way to go out. This is now one of my favorites and cant wait to get my hands one some more of this farmhouse ale.
