Poured from a 12 oz. bottle with a best before date well beyond today.

Amber, sappy appearance accompanies a decent froth after a vigorous pour. Head recedes into a tiny lace and evidence of mega-carbonation in active bubbling at the bottom of the glass.

Scent is doughy, with lightly floral hop notes balanced by a tinge of maple syrup. Inviting, but not giving too much away.

Wow, the bubbles were not an aberration, as this brew is stinging with carbonation. Thinness to the body, but the flavor profile is interesting. Wheat bread with a sweet and spicy backdrop, followed by a slightly bittering hop finish. Taste is pleasingly balanced and quite sessionable.

A respectable shot at the style. You could take the label off and hand it to a Bavarian.

Review from notes

Auburn colored, nice lacing. Mildly nutty with a good dose of malts. Slight touch of metallic. Flavor is malt forward with delicate hop finish. Mild bitterness. Smooth carbonation, crisp. Pretty good overall. Not something I want to seek out but if it's there I'll drink it.

Serving type: on-tap

Appearance: 1" cream colored head fades fairly quickly leaving faint soapy looking lacing. Amber color and somewhat cloudy with moderate carbonation
Aroma: toasted bread, caramel, a bit of hop spice
Mouthfeel: mostly light but not as light as a pale lager, just slightly sticky, somewhat dry finish Flavor: toasted bread, caramel malts, a definite hop bite in the middle and finish.
Overall: very good, but not the best Oktoberfest.
