picked up locally. surprised that these guys are available already, but then again halloween costumes are starting to show up. enjoyed from my brooklyn snifter.
a - brew poured a transparent brown with a thin foamy white head that left some chunky lacing. some visible carbonation could be seen dancing in the glass.
s - ah...fresh marzen. nutmeg, figs, earthiness. toasted malts. breadiness.
t - a blend of toasted malts with some sweet figgy-ness glazed on the surface. malt heavy with some nutmeg grapes. i like a bit more sweetness on this style, but pretty solid none-the-less.
m - solid even carbonation, soft sweetness, but good for the style. easy drinker.
o - overall, pretty good marzen. i like them a bit sweeter, but this is a solid offering from brooklyn. this style doesn't get the love that it should.

Review from notes
Auburn colored, nice lacing. Mildly nutty with a good dose of malts. Slight touch of metallic. Flavor is malt forward with delicate hop finish. Mild bitterness. Smooth carbonation, crisp. Pretty good overall. Not something I want to seek out but if it's there I'll drink it.

Appearance: 1" cream colored head fades fairly quickly leaving faint soapy looking lacing. Amber color and somewhat cloudy with moderate carbonation
Aroma: toasted bread, caramel, a bit of hop spice
Mouthfeel: mostly light but not as light as a pale lager, just slightly sticky, somewhat dry finish Flavor: toasted bread, caramel malts, a definite hop bite in the middle and finish.
Overall: very good, but not the best Oktoberfest.
