355ml bottle, poured into a large wide tulip
Pours with an attractive rich copper body, rich amber highlights. Tight off white head, orangy tinted with good retention, forms about an inch thick. Lots of lacing up and down the glass
Smell, tonnes of rich bready malt, some butteriness on the nose, little bit of mustiness lingering around, some slight fresh grassy hops
Taste, crisp and bready, initially some euro hop bitterness followed by a chunk of rich biscuity malt. Some sweet caramel and slightly burnt sugar character, slight lingering hop bitterness on the finish
A very drinkable marzen, well interpreted by the Brooklyn brewery.

Review from notes
Auburn colored, nice lacing. Mildly nutty with a good dose of malts. Slight touch of metallic. Flavor is malt forward with delicate hop finish. Mild bitterness. Smooth carbonation, crisp. Pretty good overall. Not something I want to seek out but if it's there I'll drink it.

Appearance: 1" cream colored head fades fairly quickly leaving faint soapy looking lacing. Amber color and somewhat cloudy with moderate carbonation
Aroma: toasted bread, caramel, a bit of hop spice
Mouthfeel: mostly light but not as light as a pale lager, just slightly sticky, somewhat dry finish Flavor: toasted bread, caramel malts, a definite hop bite in the middle and finish.
Overall: very good, but not the best Oktoberfest.
