Review from notes

Auburn colored, nice lacing. Mildly nutty with a good dose of malts. Slight touch of metallic. Flavor is malt forward with delicate hop finish. Mild bitterness. Smooth carbonation, crisp. Pretty good overall. Not something I want to seek out but if it's there I'll drink it.

Appearance: 1" cream colored head fades fairly quickly leaving faint soapy looking lacing. Amber color and somewhat cloudy with moderate carbonation
Aroma: toasted bread, caramel, a bit of hop spice
Mouthfeel: mostly light but not as light as a pale lager, just slightly sticky, somewhat dry finish Flavor: toasted bread, caramel malts, a definite hop bite in the middle and finish.
Overall: very good, but not the best Oktoberfest.

Copper/orange in color, this Oktoberfest offers a small head of foam with tightly packed bubbles. The nose on this beer emphasizes bready malts and caramel and is not very pronounced.

With the taste, this beer offers some of the usual marzen flavors common to the style. The taste of bready malts, toast, light spice, and caramel are evident from beginning to end. There is a slightly roasty taste and the body of the beer is light to medium, leaning toward the sweet side.

I don’t know why I am drinking an Oktoberfest in March, but I had been saving this beer for a while and thought it might hit the spot right now. It is a good example of the marzen style- a style I am not usually too thrilled about and do not rank very highly on my list. But style biases aside, this is a good beer overall. The taste is better than the mellow nose leads you to believe and it does have enough going for it to earn a recommendation.

Light brown colored beer with just a faint bit of white foam covering part of the top. Good clarity. Aroma of caramel and dark malt greets my nose. The mouth is a bit sticky and chewy. The flavor is of caramel, dark malt, and there's a nuttiness in the taste, particularly in the fade.

12oz bottle in a pint glass. From notes.

A-Reddish brown copper color. 1-plus finger tan head. Fat, thick lacing. Bubbly, clear, clean.

S- Bready malt aroma with a light hop note.

T-Bready malt and caramel followed by spicy hop flavor.

M- Good carbonation, light body. Some hop snap on the end.

O- It's not Octoberfish, that's for sure.
