growler filled at orchard park consumers. around fridge temp poured into an imperial pint glass.
pours out a clearish reddish orange color, bordering on brown. decent head of the pour that faded to some thin retention. light lacing.
mostly yeasty phenolics. dark fruits
a very clean tasting and simple belgian. phenolic yeast is mostly noticable with a little spice. fruits, almost grape like, a little dark fruits. just a slight hop finish.
good feeling carbonation with a medium body.
great drinkability, something you can sit at the bar and have a few of. a growler is an easy kill.
overall: simple, but they got most of the basics right. when i was drinking this i took it for a belgian dubbel, later to find out that it is actually a belgian pale. this is a pretty good bar and is worth atleast a pint, but there are so many top notch belgians out there that i prolly wont be buying this again.

on tap at sams in Durham. into a Brooklyn pint glass.
pours a dark copper with a big head. tad of citrus on the nose. good crisp taste, with a hint of banana on the aftertaste. a tad yeasty too. very easy drinking. medium bodied with medium carbonation.
overall a good easy drinking Belgian pale. you won't regret it.
