I look forward to this beer every year. Just picked up the 2011-12 edition.
A-Poured a motor-oil black color with a mocha colored head that was about 1/2 fingersbreath thick
A-Bittersweet chocolate, roasted malts, roasted coffee
T-Roasted malts and bittersweet chocolate. A roasted coffee flavor follows with a hint of caramel. Well balanced.
M-Creamy, thick mouthfeel. Minimal carbonation. Almost a chewy characteristic
Overall: I love this beer. This year's edition, in my opinion, might be the best balanced BCS compared to the last several years. Very drinkable. If I have to find one fault, it would be that you can't detect the alcohol at all, and, at 10% ABV, that is a dangerous thing. This is a definite beergasm!
