Post Road Pumplin Ale- a subtlety festive label on a brown bottle with a nice big pumpkin on it. Pours a nice dark pumpkin orange with a good inch of slightly orange head. A perfect ring of thick lacing lines the glass marking the first pour as the head slowly fades away.
Lots of pumpkin, spices..some cinnamon and nutmeg, even hints of gingerbread and vanilla tones. It's not over the top at all, but a pleasant mid-range pumpkin ale. It's definitely not as spicy as Dogfish Head's Punkin or as bold and far out as Southern Tier's Pumking.
Very pleasant creamy and spicy mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. It would be conceivable to drink a couple of these on a nice autumn eve!
